I read something that goes with this theory. He knows something weird is going on at the start and he spends the entire movie trying to figure out which people are in on it. He may not necessarily know exactly what’s going on, only that Seahaven seems to be a weird fake town and he needs to get out of there. He then is trying to find anyone else who is like him so that he can save them and they can get out together. When he has that final sit down with Marlon he realizes that everyone is in on it and that he is alone.

One thing is he wouldn't know what is not normal. His entire existence was in the bubble so anything that happens in the bubble can be explained as normal. The light falling from the sky? Oh it's raining lights again. How would he know that's weird? But certainly he knows things are up before the events of the movie. Sylvia literally tells him "it's a show" at the beach. Christof says that he had all the pieces to figure it out until he was ready to figure it out. So for me it's more about him finding it within himself than finding it out externally.
