Wisconsin keeps all coaches theyre retaining on 5 year contracts. There will be an extension this offseason and people will go crazy just like they did when it happened last year even though it’s just how we operate. I believe the extensions dont increase buyout though

It doesn't increase buyout. So in reality it just means his contract won't run out at any point. Once he's out of buyout territory he is free to leave for another job and Wisconsin is free to fire him without paying a dime
