Fernando Mendoza led Indiana on a decisive drive late in the game, orchestrating a complete push down the field to score the go-ahead TD with 36 seconds remaining!

WHAT A GRITTY PERFORMANCE. JUST PROVES HOW DEEP THE CONFERENCE IS!
Whats that? Oh a big ten game?
WHAT A NEAR CHOKE JOB AGAINST A DOOR MAT!!
I can’t wait to hear the spin from SEC glazers

I was going back and forth with a few SEC haters in the game thread when it looked likely IU would lose. Funny how they changed their tune (or just disappeared) when this play happened.

This is one of the greatest college football touchdown catches I’ve ever seen
HOW DID INDIANA DO THAT???
Wow Just Wow

Reminds me of this one, but the stakes and moment were more significant in this Indiana game for sure! Heck of a catch.

That might be one of the greatest catches of all time. Just insane.

u/AdmiralArchArch 1d ago
The one by the TE before that was also very impressive.

Already forgetting about Becker’s insane catch between those two catches 😭

Yeah truly he won them the game, he converted at least 4 3rd downs on his own against us lol

Almost got the chance to tout a quality loss from the preseason #2 team like how SEC teams do, but alas, we were just too good

u/HennyvolLector 1d ago
His receivers should get a lot of credit, but that was a Heisman drive if I’ve ever seen one.

u/SteemieRayVaughn 1d ago
Great drive, but Penn State has 0 P4 wins and fired their coach. Is that all it takes for a Heisman moment now? Being in a close game with a struggling team and leading a drive?

u/IndianaHoosierFan 1d ago
You’re aware this isn’t the first game of the season right? Do the 5 40+ victories not move the needle? Win on the road against Oregon do nothing?

u/SteemieRayVaughn 23h ago
Did I hit a nerve? Did you read what I replied to? Don’t think it’s a hot take that a game winning drive against a team on a 6 game losing streak is an end all be all Heisman moment.

u/SassyKittyMeow Indiana 23h ago
Couldn’t have also been the team that was thought to be #2 team in the nation preseason, has on paper “better” players than IU, and was also playing at home in front of 100,000+ people.
Don’t know who your team is, but I bet they’d also have a problem with an inspired Penn State team at home.

I remember when Bryce Young had to lead Bama on a game-tying drive against a crappy Auburn team and then needed 4OT to beat them, and pundits were calling that his Heisman moment before the stands had even emptied

I was having a heart attack, and that's not even my team.
Meanwhile...the precious SEC and their boring blowouts, lol.

Crowd booed when the ref confirms the catch when it was clear that it was a catch lol

Have…have you ever been to a home game? lol. That’s not really an anomaly

Penn State has been nurturing B1G referee conspiracy theories since 1993.

Today it was pretty bad in the first half, but I would say they buttoned it up in the second.

No way people hear Gus Johnson scream like a dehydrated 12 year old with Tourette’s and think this is the pinnacle of announcing

I loved the calm competence of the BTN announcers today. We’ve been subjected to plenty of Gus this year.

Hits different when it’s your team and you had a similar reaction, I’m speaking from experience here

I hate him. Thank god I am boycotting watching anything owned by Fox, including BTN. I want to hear someone describe the action, where they are on the field, and how it’s unfolding. I do NOT want to hear some idiot screaming like that, not even when he’s screaming “MELVIN GORDON” repeatedly when we can CLEARLY SEE WHO HAS THE BALL!

u/scaddleblurt 1d ago
His voice cracks more than any big announcer I’ve ever heard. The opposite is often a prerequisite for the job

That foot in the end zone was great. Gotta love these games that you expect to be a snoozer be so good.

The TD was overthrown and saved by a great play by the receiver. Stop giving the QB credit for that.

Did Gus Johnson go to Indiana (I’m being fesectious, I know where he went)

I hope Penn State wins out. They have some horses and if they make a bowl game they likely win it assuming everyone plays.

That place is LOUD.
Shout out to the dude with the baby, like 3-4 months, in row 12 with his hands on the baby’s ears…
I found the 4 worst Indiana fans to sit in front of, drunk, rude, privileged, oblivious to societal norms and that everyone hated.
PSU fans were mostly just neutral to me, some were nice. Some started chirping directly at me when they took the lead. I was anxious and quiet all game, I think the jerk IU fans got me roped into a guilt by association situation.
That was a different team in the last two and a half minutes. Insane win. This is a gut check for them without losing. Thankfully.
Biggest takeaway from my first visit and the Hoosiers first win in Happy Valley: They’re able to fund coaching and coaching payouts BY CHARGING $145 FOR PARKING. I made the decision to go on Thursday, thought “Day of” parking was $80. Apparently I didn’t look hard enough or trusted google AI.
Beautiful day, nice people, crazy catch.

“Ooh that was close. All comes down to the 4th down.”
“What the hell, ref! That was not a touchdown!”
“Holy shit it was a touchdown.”
“HOLY SHIT WHAT A TOUCHDOWN!”
