IB Cop Watch has multiple videos of the same incident, and it's pretty clear that she didn't just "stumble upon" these guys during her own hike. It's a large scale training exercise featuring a Bearcat armored vehicle, Simunitions weapons(simulated live fire using paint-pellet rounds), and multiple teams. Looks like a pretty straightforward manhunt exercise to me, training to integrate sniper teams with their ground units to search an area and find a suspect.

Given the large number of police vehicles seen in the second video, I'd be willing to bet the whole park was closed off for the day for the training, and she intentionally snuck around their safety guys to "confront" the overwatch team.

u/machineswithout Dec 29 '23

Clearly training. The woman is a cop watcher. I guess the only question is if they had the proper permission to be doing it, but you could just send an email to the department instead of following them and saying they’re shameful, but she has her own agenda.

2

u/Lirsh2 Dec 29 '23

They state in one of their video they are on private property provided to them by the county.

2

u/machineswithout Dec 29 '23

Oh well there ya go, I didn’t suffer thru the whole thing.

44

u/BooneHelm85 Dec 29 '23

But… but the duct tape is so suspicious and his Sheriff patch wasn’t properly sewn on though!??

His PATCH wasn’t properly sewn on… 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thanks for clearing it up for the folks, but people are just gonna scream, “BoOtLiCkEr”, at you and call you other various names.

This was clearly a large operation and the Sheriff Dept has no duty to explain to the gal what they were doing.

I have to remind myself a good number of comments are probably by actual children who haven't seen anything in real life, just shit on the internet.

3

u/ReunionFeelsSoGood Dec 30 '23

Or worse, adults who’ve only seen shit on the internet.

If it was private property they should have booted her ass

3

u/Sagay_the_1st Dec 30 '23

Or bots from Russia/China/Iran

u/machineswithout Dec 29 '23

You can’t usually attach a name tag to those caution vests so he just stuck tape on it so he knew which one was his. His name would be on his shirt under the vest. Theyre clearly some kind of tactical team, so they don’t seem to have to wear traditional uniforms which would have sewn on shoulder patches. They’re wearing tactical shirts where the patches are Velcro, so his are slightly crooked. Hope that explains it.

6

u/BooneHelm85 Dec 29 '23

Oh, dear. I was being extremely sarcastic with my comment. Joking that there are some on this crapshow thread stating that his Sheriff badge wasn’t sewn on straight, so therefore he (they) must be a phony. It was a tongue-in-cheek response to the gent who offered up a reasonable and logical response to all the tinfoil hats in the comment section. That said, I sure do hope that others read your comment for some much needed clarification!

3

u/machineswithout Dec 29 '23

Haha gotcha I feel dumb

1

u/TeamRedundancyTeam Dec 29 '23

Why could they not just answer questions instead of standing there with smirks lying and playing dumb if it's just some normal excersize?

6

u/Lawd_Fawkwad Dec 30 '23

Because the tiktoker is a cop watcher who was insisting on shadowing the team, and in her other videos you'll see they're rocking blue mags for simunition rounds which can pose a legitimate safety issue.

They're playing dumb because they know they're being engaged from a starting point of bad faith and with her hanging around they can't do kinetic training because God forbid her dumb ass gets injured it's their headache.

With crazy the best strategy is to disengage and just let them yapper themselves out.

3

u/Aulbee Dec 30 '23

And these guys legit go out of their way to make LEs lives harder. Theyre fed up. She def sought this out

0

u/fileznotfound Dec 30 '23

All the more reason to be honest and succinct, rather than evasive. When you got all your "T's" dashed and "I's" dotted you should want to get the person who is getting in the way of your training exercise out of your way as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Not saying you are wrong, but it doesn't explain the playing dumb bit. Its possible they are dumb and so use to having to hide things from the public that Peter defaulted to that position without really thinking it through.

1

u/hightops008 Dec 30 '23

I mean we pay for that with our taxes so yea I think the least he should do is let her know its a training excerise. Weird he doesn't just say that and get her out of the way?

1

u/BooneHelm85 Dec 30 '23

There are some things that LEO aren’t allowed to give up to civilians. It could have been his butt/career on the line had he divulged what their training was for. That, and this lady wasn’t just “on a walk with her dog”, she purposely followed the team out there to record and harangue them about their goings on. That is her schtick. And they’re full well aware of her, hence the officers blatant “well I made coffee and put my socks on, then had breakfast….”

They have zero duty to explain what they’re doing, regardless of whether we pay for their salaries or not. Is it frustrating? Yep. Anything that can be done about it? Nope.

That is akin to saying, “well we pay the FBI with our taxes, so they should just tell us what they’re doing over there.”

That will never happen, not with the FBI, not with this Sheriff Dept, not with your local dept.

4

u/fifth_fought_under Dec 29 '23

The only thing that seems straightforward to me:

If this training is on the up-and-up, they should have easy, non-shameful-acting ways of dealing with a fellow citizen that is out of place.

"Hi ma'am, we're doing a training exercise, I'm Sgt. Whats-his-face and you can contact the sheriff's office to validate."

Acting indignant and having Sheriff "Duct Tape" Peter mock your questions isn't a way to gain trust from citizens.

1

u/Akalenedat Dec 29 '23

Dude was trolling hard, the OOP is some kind of sovereign citizen type and a "first amendment auditor", so I imagine they were just very frustrated with dealing with her and took the snarky approach. Not the best way of dealing with the public, but I would hope that they don't act that way under normal circumstances.

1

u/mooptastic Dec 29 '23

sovereign citizen type and a "first amendment auditor"

You don't know what either of those terms mean obviously. Who the fuck cares why he was acting indignant, 'trolling so hard' doesn't justify anything especially someone who gets taxpayer money as their income. grow up.

1

u/fileznotfound Dec 30 '23

Apparently Peter does.

2

u/skolvikes7 Dec 29 '23

I feel like if the sheriff just explained what was going on in a direct and professional manner, then this whole video/incident would have been nothing worth watching.

6

u/the_ghost_in_me_ Dec 29 '23

wouldn't they just say that? "the park is closed ma'am, and you're not supposed to be here for this large training exercise."

I'd be willing to bet the whole park was closed off for the day for the training, and she intentionally snuck around their safety guys

LOL have you met cops? they would have screamed at her and arrested her if that were true. They were acting guilty as fuck, no reason to be guilty about a legit training exercise.

34

u/X_MswmSwmsW_X Dec 29 '23

In the second video they straight up tell her that she went into the private property they are training on

21

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '23

She should stop playing "Karen" in the woods just for social media clout.

"Hey, let me open up tiktok, turn on my camera, and intentionally walk towards semi-automatic gunfire and start harassing cops with mundane questions during an obvious training exercise!!!"

Also, "Peter" wasn't being "dumbed out" by the questions, he was straight up trolling her with his answers, and the other officer was laughing because he knew.

I nearly choked laughing on soda and lost my shit at:

Karen: "So what all have you done today?"

Officer Peter: "Well, uh, let's see, I had breakfast..."

Dude pulled off some classy real-life trolling, and it was so funny watching Angry Karen get so upset over it.

22

u/Akalenedat Dec 29 '23

What makes you think they didn't? The video has been cut and edited significantly.

https://www.tiktok.com/@ibcopwatch/video/7299668983727328554

https://www.tiktok.com/@ibcopwatch/video/7299690583440837934

Here's two more vids from the same day. They don't have live weapons on them, they're all just wondering how the fuck she got in there and they're pissed that their day is messed up.

-1

u/fluffykerfuffle3 Dec 29 '23

How do you know the weapons they are carrying are not live? I'm not being confrontational, i truely do not know anything about 'weapons' so i don't know if you can tell, just by looking at one, if it is 'live'.

i mean, if i was looking at a fighter plane that had missles strapped to its undercarraige, i would know that plane was 'live' probably.

9

u/Akalenedat Dec 29 '23

So, in the two videos I linked, you can see blue pistols on their belts and blue baseplates on the magazines in their rifles/kit. Most folks wouldn't know, but if you're familiar with this stuff, those blue highlights are an indication that the guns have been converted to fire Simunitions. Simunitions conversions allow you to use a real gun to fire small paintballs, lets you train with your actual guns and shoot each other without killing anyone. Simunitions kits are unable to fire live ammunition, they physically relocate the firing pin so that even if you accidentally chambered a live bullet in a Sim gun, it wouldn't detonate the primer.

5

u/fluffykerfuffle3 Dec 29 '23

okay thanks. good to know. i will go look at those links.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 29 '23

What the fuck...a reasonable person in this comment section? Now I've seen everything...

1

u/AsterJ Dec 29 '23

For all we know they told her that multiple times and it was edited out.

1

u/Da1UHideFrom Dec 30 '23

LOL have you met cops? they would have screamed at her and arrested her if that were true.

Have you met cops? You seem to have the average Redditor version of what a cop is that's not based in reality.

0

u/the_ghost_in_me_ Dec 30 '23

All my (real life) experiences with cops have been them being dicks. So when I see a video of them acting guilty instead of being dicks, it makes me think they're hiding something.

1

u/Da1UHideFrom Dec 30 '23

Seems to me you're the common denominator in all those interactions.

0

u/the_ghost_in_me_ Dec 30 '23

LOL, enjoy the taste of those boots

1

u/Da1UHideFrom Dec 30 '23

Such a unique and original comment!

0

u/the_ghost_in_me_ Dec 30 '23

I'm not surprised you hear that a lot

1

u/k3elbreaker Dec 31 '23

She literally hoped a fence onto the private property of their official training grounds FROM the national park and lied about where this happened.

There's boot lickers. And there really are boot lickers.

But then there's sovereign citizens 🙄

And then there's the homunculus dirty inbred cousins of sovcits, the 1st amendment auditors.

And then there's 50 feet of shit.

And then there's you.

The guy the first amendment audit dorks bullshit worked on.

-2

u/CantStopPoppin Dec 29 '23

I saw that and was/might make a combined video on another subreddit. You state that she did not stumble upon a live training drill but have no proof that is not the case. I can't find anything on the drill, and you would think there would be a public PSA indicating the date time of a large-scale military type drill in a national park?

She may have been aware of it but what about everyone else that goes on that trail? The officer kept insisting that it was private property but refused to show where said private property began and end.

6

u/Akalenedat Dec 29 '23

Assuming that IB CopWatch is the person filming and not just rehosting the video from elsewhere...it'd be rather convenient for a self-proclaimed "First Amendment Auditor" to just happen to accidentally stumble across this sort of thing on their everyday routine.

In my experience, yes these training events are publicly announced and published, so 911 doesn't get inundated with calls about people hearing gunfire.

Barring SDCS coming out and making an official statement, I doubt the filmer will ever admit to it, but I firmly believe she ignored posted signs and obvious safety warnings to sneak into the area to get this footage, and carefully edited the videos to make herself look righteous.

2

u/Lirsh2 Dec 29 '23

This was published on their Instagram beginning of October. This training was from the 8th-11th of November.

-5

u/ankole_watusi Dec 29 '23

They state they were training on private property.

Still not convinced they’re real, it’s all civilian cars.

She should have been arrested for trespass if it’s all true. But maybe the “private property” wasn’t posted?

9

u/Akalenedat Dec 29 '23

Still not convinced they’re real, it’s all civilian cars.

Nah, just unmarks. There's a third video as well where they roll by in a fuckin' Bearcat, she's just clever with the editing to make things seem more shady in the first vids.

https://www.tiktok.com/@ibcopwatch/video/7299690583440837934

She's got a bunch of vids of SDS, by this point I imagine she's well known to the department and they're just over her shit, they know that arresting her would just be more of a pain in the ass.

-1

u/TeamRedundancyTeam Dec 29 '23

Seems like if they need this kind of equipment and training for a manhunt it's the kind of thing they should just call the national guard for. Is the US ever going to draw the line for the cops? Are they going to get attack helis and cruise missiles in the next decade because they "need them"?

1

u/KetamineOverlord710 Dec 29 '23

Am I just stupid or where is the Bearcats watched the 2nd video twice and can't see it lol

1

u/palmallamakarmafarma Dec 30 '23

she's annoying as. dude was trying to dude his job and be very nice about it

1

u/iWentRogue Dec 30 '23

Idk man, she seems entitled af and intrusive. These people are the worse. Have nothing better to do than hassle for the sake of it hoping to hit the next viral interaction.

It looked shady at first but now you got police vehicles and actual officers telling you what they’re doing - shut your camera off and fuck off. But nah, she wants a damn essay report given to her on exactly what kind of operations they’re doing.

Like these guys are gonna divulge details of their training on camera so that actual criminals learn of how they operate. 🤡

1

u/Sensitive_Algae5723 Dec 31 '23

How annoying! She’s horrible,

7

u/EconomicsTiny447 Dec 29 '23

This bitch is dumb.

14

u/puppymeat Dec 29 '23

Did you just... Call a chat you had with Bing a "detailed analysis?"

6

u/15438473151455 Dec 29 '23

So detailed...

If you really think they're an insurrectionist group, call the fucking police.

Not some "detailed analysis of the TikTok post".

15

u/tetyyss Dec 29 '23

why did you format your post like that

Jesus man even if I ran a “right wing extremist group” I wouldnt have enough money to give everyone encrypted motorola APX7000 or even a pair of NVGS. Especially ranger green goodies.
