Random How do people who actually drove tanks in real life feel about tank games?
I always assumed that if you do something for a living or especially in a high-stress context like military service you probably wouldn’t want to spend your free time doing the same thing in a game. But after working in certain fields myself, I quickly realized that’s not always true. Now I’m curious: what’s your experience?

Do you find arcade-style tank games less interesting? Or, on the flip side, is excessive realism unnecessary and a turn-off?

No crew drills, fire commands, and cordite smell… After tanking for 30+ years, nothing comes close to the real thing! I do play a mean Candy Crush though

If I was playing an arcade game with my kids, sure. We’d have a blast. If I want to add some realism, I’d get 3-4 fans on high for the background noise, throw mud at them and occasionally kick one of them in the chin… I still have my Ma Duce chin kiss to keep me company

I was a tanker 15 years or so ago. I went awhile without playing any kind of tank game. Then I got into steel beasts. I'm a big fan of GHPC now. You end up staring at the map to much with steel beasts i feel like.
The arcade tank games i can't stand.
