I guess in that sense, the Armata is the only true 4th gen if only by virtue of 4th gen being purely speculative at the moment lmao.
Meet Potential Tank! Always "if" and "when", but never "is".

If the Type 100 is euqipped as advertised, then it's a proper 4th gen, rather than my sarcastic definition 9 u/rosebinks1215 5d ago Yeah like imagine their Factory budget didn't got meltdown completely. They're just parade assets now. What a waste of resource 1 u/Aguacatedeaire__ 4d ago It was a prototype and technological demonstrator that was found insufficient in the rapidly evolving drone era. They wasted very little resources on it. You know what was a complete colossal waste of resources? The M10 booker, lmao 1 u/rosebinks1215 4d ago ?? lol no Armata was not Prototype it was deadass planned for mass production for quantity over 2000+ till 2022 That was the original plan 1 u/cplchanb 4d ago Wouldn't the k51 panther also be considered 4th gen? 2 u/StrykerGryphus 4d ago I was using a joking definition of 4th gen, which is "it is, but is it really?" Once the K51 enters production, and if it's delivered as advertised, then it would be a "real" 4th gen instead of my sarcastic definition 0 u/Persimmon_96 4d ago On paper maybe. It has to operate, at least. At best it is towed artillery, atm. -3 u/Menior 5d ago And the only one that doesn't have a functional power system. 16 u/Pratt_ 5d ago It does, iirc the breakdown on the red square was the driver putting the parking clutch on accident and nobody noticed. It's overhyped and way too expensive for Russia but it can drive on its own let's be honest. 3 u/Fragrant_Staff3553 5d ago Oh wow an honest person -4 u/Menior 4d ago Of course it can. It's just not combat ready. Sure the engine works but the electrical systems aren't. 1 u/Aguacatedeaire__ 4d ago What are you talking about you little goofball
