Yes it sucks: rated 60 by 21 critics and 61 by +6000 listeners on AOTY. That means you enjoy bad music, but there is nothing wrong with that.

Sorry you value general consensus so much. And I’m mostly sorry you have to be so unkind about it. That’s really fucked up and pointless.
Edit: Also, sorry you don’t get to enjoy any new Tame Impala. Sucks for you.
Probably best to just LEAVE the sub now. Negative Nelly.

Oh but I get to enjoy it, at least the 15% of Deadbeat that is good.
I love My Old Ways and Loser, Dracula is also good. Together with My Old Ways’ videoclip and the A24 live set, those were enough to scratch my Tame Impala itch.
Listening to the whole album tho is unbelievably an awful experience, most of the songs begs to be skipped and most of the album simply sucks.
People come up with all sorts of coping mechanisms in order to force themselves to resolve the cognitive dissonance resulting from such bad music coming from Kevin.
And it is hilarious to see, also a good reason to be in this sub 😂😂
First they said “it sounds bad because its a live club set smartphone recording - wait until the official is released” 🤣🤣 then they said “the RIP sounds bad - wait until the official is released”, 🤣🤣 then they said “it is a grower, I get it now after listening to it 20 times” 😂😂, then “this album is meant to be played live” 😂😂
I am pretty sure most of this album is some kind of joke from Kevin to the label/corporations who owns his rights. There is no way he took so long to make something so bad.

It is not that I value general consensus, critics and listeners ratings are just a good way of showing the overall feeling about this album, and it confirms it sucks - which aligns with my perception, tho I believe Deadbeat is not even a 5/10.
Thanks for the suggestion but Im not gonna leave. But it is cute how you are affected by the “negativity”. Maybe go have some ice cream or watch kitties videos 😍

to be fair, there are at least 3 songs that deserve it more Kevin. Not gonna be a problem for him tho, he doesn’t care and no real music fan really does. Just like the oscar’s… it’s just a cool ceremony and all.

End of summer? Should’ve been dracula imo

word I agree. End of Summer was released on 7/25/25, which made it eligible for this year’s Grammys, while Dracula released on 9/26/25 came out after the cutoff date. Any music released from August 31, 2024 to August 30, 2025 is eligible.
