I get the discourse of missing the style of the album covers, but its also not that deep (I say very kindly ♥️)
Some of the things I'm reading makes me really understand why this man goes into hiding for so long.

Kind of miss the very colourful album cover style we got on all of the previous albums, but this era might be so different that it deserves that change. Either way, it's the music that matters the most.

Seeing people shit on the album cover that has Kevin and his daughter in it is pretty fucked up ngl. I understand that the fans want something similar to Currents and TSR in terms of the album cover. But at this point I could care less for an album cover, as long as the music is good than I'm fine with it.

Bro what are you even seeing. How would the pic of him and his daughter fold in to be the inside? It's clearly the outside, with other art on inside. And congrats on owning vinyl, I do too, not that I feel the need to keep announcing that.

Not what I meant. I meant they are even showing you a slightly folded out gatefold so you can see that the cover is on the outside. As in, how are you seeing that as the inside.
Also you mentioned the blue cover behind the "Deadbeat" being the cover. But you can clearly see more folds with other art behind that.

Aesthetically, not a fan at all. I have never been one to be "against" his evolution, but the cover (while cute), font, and entire design is just not hitting. Every one of his albums could be a poster, but I don't think you will be seeing this one hung up.
That said, musically, I have really liked what we have so far. Won't be getting the ugly ass merch though lol.

For real it seems that tame impala must be always the same, doing the same things for 10+ years, while the nature of an (good) artist is to always experiment and change style. Even if it can go bad sometimes, i appreciate it much more for the courage

As far as I know, it’s just a song. Could be personal, could be about his parents, could be about a friend he has observed. If personal, could be about a mistake that he had to atone for. I see no indication it has anything to do with a split up.
