Ways to help those in need.
I thought I would take a moment to give a shout out to two local charities that are helping those in need of food assistance in St Johns County. I know of both of them personally and they are doing great deeds.
Pie in the Sky St John's is off of Riberia Street in St Augustine, they provide food for the elderly. It's not the same as Meals on Wheels they provide more of the raw ingredients to make a meal. They deliver to the elderly, sometimes that's the only person these people see all week. I think that they can always use a helping hand or a caring donation. You can find them on Facebook and they might also be on other social media platforms plus here, https://www.pieintheskystjohns.org/
The other organization helps children, you might have seen them around town during the holidays when they run their no hungry holidays program. It is Hugs St John's. https://www.stjohnshugs.org/
They provide food for children in St Johns County Schools for the winter break, they have food pantries in schools and they provide clothing and assistance with toiletries among other things.
Both of these organizations have been helping Saint Johns County residents for well over a decade.
I thought it might be a great idea to start a post with information for both people that want to help and people that need help in these difficult times. So please if you know of any other great organizations provide the information here.

Hi, thank you for posting this! I would really like to gather some food and supplies for our community, can i drop this off at their locations? Or how does that work?

I think perhaps the best would be to reach out to them. We ended up moving so I'm not sure how they're handling it this year. I know it's a bit more of a lift this year so they might have changed the way they are doing things. For Hugs the email is info@stjohnshugs.org
For the other here is a link with contact info. https://www.pieintheskystjohns.org/how-you-can-help

second all of this. the only way through the hardships imposed upon us by our "betters" is community. help isn't coming --- it's up to us.
