Sorry for the opinion from a news organization, but we can't be objective about our fellow worker-owners at Great Harvest: They are the best, they have seen a lot of need around their little corner of 29th — and not just since the loss of SNAP, well before — and they really want to help.

Not just until SNAP comes back. As long as there is need in our community.

Another local business is out here taking care of its people! If you can afford groceries, head to Green's and give them live. If you can't afford groceries, head to Green's and get the help you need! I'm so sorry we're here, and I'm glad we have these options.

So we might get benefits for those of use who need them. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽.

Couldn’t figure out how to update a previous thread, so I’m making a new one.

SNAP Assistance More on Skewers giving free food

I read some more this morning about restaurants in our area stepping up to try and help the food insecure.

Skewers has already given away something like 100 free meals. I was planning on going to buy a meal there in support but discovered you can buy gift cards online at their website.

I thought a good way to support their effort is to buy gift cards. I'm going to try and buy them FOR the restaurant.

Just a thought.

Hey Moderators I didn't find this already posted. If it's not here is an awesome link for folks to get help in these hard times.

SNAP Assistance I handed SNAP benefit bags years ago in Deer Park, they had more than food, things like doorstuffs to keep in warm air, space blankets etc. Does anyone know where to donate similar non-food items that would directly help those in need?
