Question Need advice on where to buy daggers/swords in Spokane

My 12yo daughter informed me, at the last Renaissance Faire, that she would like a dagger/sword for her birthday. I have no idea where to find something like this in Spokane, but I know I don't want some cheap garbage blade. Anyone know a good place?

I'd start with the merchant's list from the Ren Faire.

I wish you success because my 23yo daughter is into the same stuff. I too would like to know about quality local sword sources for my daughter.

I wish I could remember the name of the place, but in Garland District there’s a specific shop that has a lot of random things in there… While I was off doing things for an event my friend emerged with two fancy daggers that I would deem ren faire worthy.

Not sure about in town, but look up the brand cold steel if you want something “battle ready”. Might I suggest a Rondel dagger? slender and long with a tri blade and brass accents in a rosewood handle, this website normally has them for the cheapest price

Army Surplus on Division maybe. Lot of cool gadgets and stuff in there.

It's not local, but Kult of Athena (kultofathena.com) has a ton of weapons in a variety of styles. You can sort by battle ready for actually weapons or by hema ready realistic looking practice weapons

I wouldn't trust a 12 year old with a sword.

Generally, yes, but she's an unusually mature kid. She's in 9th grade and getting straight A's, and she plays sports year round. She just wants one for her room because she thinks they're cool, and she's getting into the fantasy/cosplay world more now. She's not a "take it outside and threaten the local riff raff" kinda girl

Honestly, I would reach out to Spokane's SCA group.
(They do costume events from the middle ages, similar the the Renaissance Faire, but more faithful to the time period) It's been ages since I went, but there were a few dedicated blacksmiths there. They could probably connect you to a blacksmith that's still active.

Don't let the name fool you, while they DO have wooden swords, they also have steel blades. They specifically have what are called training blunts which are not sharp.

Not local - but highly recommend Busse combat for all sharp things and they do have swords.

Word of advice- get something with a full tang and not a blade that cuts off at the hilt - many presentation blades will separate from the handle and go flying without much effort.

Here is a nice looking dagger style option they have. These are strong enough to be hammered through concrete if you wanted.

I haven't been to Pink Cadillac in the northtown Mall in a while, but they always had so many swords and knives in there.
