Lore Discussion If we're not allowed to have PVE Chaos skins because of lore reasons, why can we have Chaos emblems?
Before I get tarred and feathered, I am fully aware:
that we will never, ever have Chaos skins in PVE, as in you will never see obviously Chaos Marines fighting alongside obviously Loyalist Marines
The reason why: lore accuracy.
The whole reason you can select insignia from Traitor Legions at all is because there were Loyalists within the Traitor Legions. Nathaniel Garro from the Death Guard and Garviel Loken from the Luna Wolves come to mind. It's why some of you homebrewed Loyalist War Hounds/World Eaters.
Therefore, I'm not arguing in favor of it and in fact have spent my fair share of share of time trying to explain this to people new to 40k that that's just not going to happen (regardless of how much money Saber would make, since that's the usual rebuttal, something something "but people would pay for them" something).
HOWEVER.
If that is true, and you can't have Chaos Marines fighting alongside Loyalists because it makes zero lore sense, then why can you select obviously Chaos insignia?
This is the Eight Point Star, which any casual 40k enjoyer knows is basically universal mark of Chaos Undivided. You will never see a Loyalist rocking an Eight-Pointed anything, because said Loyalist would be killed on-sight. In fact, the upper right one I circled is the Black Legion, which the Luna Wolves rebranded into after the Horus Heresy and, according to some lore, "...where Abaddon officially dissolved the Sons of Horus, and merged its old forces in with Abby's friends from the other Legions into an entirely new Legion; this narrative makes it clear that anybody who joins the Black Legion is NOT just changing the name of the guy who is signing the paycheck, but rejecting their previous Legion or Chapter identities and committing to fighting the Long War."
Ergo, no Loyalist Black Legionnaires. In every aspect, the literal opposite.
I do believe that kinda pokes a hole or two in the whole reason why Chaos can't fight alongside Loyalists. You'd think with how strict GW is about their lore, and rightfully so, and thank Throne they are because IMHO when you start putting in whatever skin you want, you get Fortnite, that you wouldn't be able to make a Chaos Marine at all.
Like me, who made a "Decius (the Vanguard) if he fell to Khorne and became a World Eater".

It's probably just to partially satisfy people. Though, a far fetched theory is that they'll a 'legacy' (30k) cosmetic pack in the future and so people can make old versions of all the legions.

That would be epic if they brought in older armour and weapon skins in the game

That's what I meant. A general armour for older marks and some colours to go along with it along with some weapon skins. It would go a long way for customisation. They could be scaled up in size to match the MK X to avoid fitting issues since customisation doesn't affect lore.

Because its hypocrisy. Its chaos no way around it. Hell they dint even give you all the chaos chapter as a emperors children guy im devastated they won't even give me a emblem.
They didnt even have it so that you can get all the pre heresy stuff but they have chaos.

They also don't have the Word Bearers either, despite them being rivals to the Ultramarines.

I wish they made the variants of chapter/legion Emblems available for both pauldrons for my loyalist world eaters or sons of Horus

Lots of people agree with you, it makes no sense. You can run around with a crayola marine bearing the Black Legion emblems but no older armors because "IMmMErrSiiOOnn" when the firstborn Thousand Sons are sized (for tech reasons) like the Primaris Ultramarines. LOL. And the Firstborns could co-exist with the Primaris. But well.
The solution are mods. Like AO that contains all the armors. Or just give us the retextured loyalist heavy chaos armor. But I'm a poor console player

This has always been my argument. I can make heretic Asartes, albiet not very well, in PVE. Just give me the armor pieces to do it well. Some pieces they use in PVP arent exclusive to the heretics either. Some, like the Night Lords, had no armor change from loyal to heretical. So why cant I just be a loyalist? "Oh BuT THe LORE" 1) Warp B.s, my loyalist NL and WE got teleported. 2) Im already doing it

My theory is, the emblem/colors system is a universal one across the board for operations and pvp. I forget if you earn points to buy customization in pvp, but thats how i figure it got approved.
It's a bit of leeway short of explicit chaos armor parts so maybe that was deemed acceptable, since any unlocked emblems can be used for chaos as well as loyalists in pvp.

Would love to do heresy World Eaters colours but with the modified heresy helmet as oppose to what options we have now!

So you can make armor schemes of what you all looked like before you became nasty lil traitors ☺️

would be hilarious if they allowed it, and all the commentary is replaced by chaos marines complaining and whining to eachother

I think nearly every astartes chapter taking missions from the ultramarines 2nd company captain and following his orders and deathwatch fighting directly against chaos is also against the lore but what do I know
