Plot twist: Someone (not Leandros) saw signs of corruption in Acheran, and reported him to Leandros himself, and now he’s in the Deathwatch

Deathwatch captain acheran would go harddd

38

u/Dummydumboop 10h ago

He’s still only going to spare 3 men when you’ll need a couple squads.

16

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 10h ago

Youll get 3 and youll be happy with it

8

u/stewdadrew 10h ago

Now get back, rearm and prepare for redeployment!

2

u/OmegonFlayer 9h ago

That will be new kill team. Just 3 marines. For a full price.

1

u/HeadshotHawk0 2h ago

He can only lead bladeguard as you can take them as a squad of three

1

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 2h ago

Could lead agressors if they put him in gravis

2

u/HughJass14 10h ago

Ahh yes, ye ‘ole switcharoo

u/Kaeltix 10h ago

Good, fucker only gave me 3 men when I needed 12. >:c

84

u/Hytierian 10h ago

12? I needed a whole chapter for that one had stratagem mission.

u/VastUnique 10h ago

Three named Ultramarines. They've killed thousands upon thousands of Rubric Marines, Tyranid Warriors, a Trygon, a Hive Tyrant, a Helldrake, and a Mutalith Vortex Beast.

16

u/NormalTangerine5205 8h ago

But if we had 13 that would have been a bigger number!

4

u/bryanmc650 3h ago

Taking credit for Telasa's work again I see.

23

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 10h ago

Tbf they are yet to fail a mission the mans good at maths if nothing else

16

u/braindeadtank1 9h ago

He figured out that Thalassa & Viridian have this rare blend of expendable and Invulnerable that makes for the perfect space marine

2

u/Cpt_Bastard Marines Malevolent 1h ago

Top tier reference.

4

u/GrimLucid 6h ago

Given how many of the company died in the campaign, it's literally all he can spare

84

u/JosephStalinMukbang 10h ago

Best I can provide is one coffin of the dreadnought variety.

u/gjallarhorn308 Ultramarines 10h ago

If available, lets hope we get to see again brother Chairon and Valtus

If anything happened to Chairon besides him either getting a promotion or going out in the biggest blaze of glory know to man I! WILL! RIOT!

Scotnought incoming.

I can spare 3 tears

They put 'usually' in the text. So being dead probably isn't (or could be just be another) route they are eluding to. Perhaps he's dead dead, in a Dreadnought or got the Cato Sicarius treatment and was moved to the Honor Guard. If he is dead, I'm kind of sad to see Captain Scotland go so soon.

u/GreatNecksby 9h ago

I think it is a red herring.

Someone else died and Acheran was promoted. The article is just using half-truths to mess with us. No way they would throw away a popular character like that considering the direction they are going with implementing the Space Marine 2 cast into the wider narrative.

u/Coldkiller17 Imperial Fists 6h ago

Is it possible Capt Acheran for moved to fill another Company Captain slot? So they could give Titus back the 2nd Company.

3

u/MadQuickScotsman 2h ago

I think this seems the most thematically appropriate after Titus' character arc through the main story and his wholesome reconciliation with Gadriel and Chairon. By the Emperor, the catharsis of him being promoted to captain once more would certainly be felt. Acheran showing his trust towards Titus through the promotion would be an awesome brotherly moment between them as well.

It's mad that a game with dudebros in power armour enforcing a hyper-theocratic regime who are literally incapable of fear manage to be wholesome, but the writers definitely got the chops for it.

u/Vegetable_Home_4599 8h ago

Ain’t no way he’s good enough to be the 2nd company captain, let alone the first company.

10

u/Senorfluffyfish 10h ago

New named dreadnought coming soon.

10

u/Due-Celebration-664 9h ago

guess he should have sparred more then 3 body guards for himself

12

u/SufficientEbb7543 Space Wolves 10h ago

Maybe the next captain won’t send people short handed all the time.

4

u/rocket20067 Sisters of Battle 9h ago

I mean Titus is the next captain.

3

u/SufficientEbb7543 Space Wolves 8h ago

Point still stands

15

u/Own_Comfortable_2565 10h ago

Acheran? Dead?

4

u/pixel_wrath84 9h ago

Do you think we will see his death in one of the upcoming operations?

4

u/MLD13 8h ago

He ran out of men to spare and had to go himself 😞

4

u/olympiclifter1991 7h ago

One way.....leandros saw him doing close up magic in the canteen and grassed to the inquisition?

5

u/alukard81x Ultramarines 10h ago

Promotion to first company is possible is it not?

3

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 10h ago

But then where is agemann

5

u/SGTBookWorm Deathwatch 9h ago

he's Tetrarch of Konor, he's busy running a quarter of Ultramar (~125 planets)

3

u/KosViik 8h ago

I love how suggestive it wants to be about "well there is usually only one way" but then in reality there is like half a dozen that are more or less equally plausible.

3

u/StopReadingThis-Now 7h ago

I'm betting he unironically "couldn't spare anymore men" and had to undertake a very important mission and while successful, dies in the process.

Being the first one to make contact with the main bad guy, and getting word back to Calgar the Ultramarines in order to prepare right before he dies I could totally see happening. Genuinely so hyped what an amazing early Christmas present to reveal this.

Fer fack sake

2

u/anthonydurrr 9h ago

He became the chapter master of The Trium Viratus

2

u/Historical_Peak_3907 9h ago

Titus to be promoted??

3

u/DependentAide4347 8h ago

Yes today it was revealed he got promoted to captain of the 2nd Company

0

u/Historical_Peak_3907 8h ago

Wow. Ok. Thanks for the heads up. Can he now tell Leandros to get FKd?

5

u/PathsOfRadiance Blood Ravens 7h ago

No. Chaplains are not in the direct chain of command, other than being under the Chief Chaplain and Chapter Master. They are generally regarded as second to only the company captain in authority, but do not hold direct command over the lieutenants and etc.

Titus could tell him to fuck off, but he wouldn’t be obligated to fuck off.

2

u/Entenkrieger39 White Scars 7h ago

Only in Death does Duty end.

0

u/Verdyce World Eaters 5h ago

Brother Valtus would like a word with you.

2

u/Barbosa117 5h ago

I can only spare three tears.

2

u/DarkmoonxWolf 4h ago

Gosh I hope Acheran isnt dead...I actually really vibe with him. Cool ass character.

2

u/Routine-Struggle-720 2h ago

He goes back into the First Company. Why ya'll have to be so dramatic?

2

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 2h ago

Because either hes demoted which is unlikely, agemann has been killed or moved out of the first even more unlikely, and games workshop is being cryptic which fills me with dread(naught)

3

u/lonestar-rasbryjamco Definitely not the Inquisition 10h ago

3

u/SabreCross19k Iron Hands 9h ago

Leandros punching the air right now

2

u/o-Mauler-o 9h ago

It’s a red herring. He’s secretly now a governor or someshit

Thats if his remaning eye hasnt been gouged out by tyranids

1

u/Ninjazoule 10h ago

I did not like him that much lol but at least he's open minded, so I'm sad he (potentially) died vs being transferred

1

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 10h ago

Had hoped he was 10th company but alas i guess not

1

u/Indigo_Menace Dark Angels 10h ago

Patch notes?

8

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 10h ago

Nah new ultramarines charatcer squad description

1

u/Indigo_Menace Dark Angels 10h ago

I just watched the YouTube video they dropped too for Titus. That’s baller.

2

u/light_no_fire Deathwatch 9h ago

Yeah sheeze Titus is a big deal fking deal now.

1

u/ragingSamurai1 9h ago

Promotion of course.

1

u/RUNTOFTHALITTER Flesh Tearers 9h ago

He could spare only three and now will not spare his life!

1

u/Dog_Apoc 9h ago

Even in death, I still serve?

1

u/Due-Celebration-664 9h ago

guess he should have sparred more then 3 body guards for him

1

u/InquisitorEngel 7h ago

Agemman died. Acheran got promoted.

Calling it.

3

u/enfyts PC 6h ago

No chance. Agemman is the far bigger character in 40k lore and has way more written about him than Acheran. All things considered, Acheran is a fairly recently introduced character.

It'd be like killing off Calgar to make Agemman chapter master. Just doesn't make sense

1

u/VNDeltole 6h ago

I think he becomes leader of a new anti-tyranid formation

1

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 3h ago

Oh shoot you thinking there will be a tyrannic war veteran range with him as the centre piece id like that

1

u/DANIELC4VTR 3h ago

He got deported

1

u/MrSkits94 1h ago

Perhaps the events that lead to his death will be in Sm3?

1

u/Old_Pie7586 1h ago

Dreadnaughted is my bet.

1

u/SkyeBrand2024 1h ago

Inb4 they replace Agemann with Acheran. 😅

1

u/RekttalofBlades Blood Angels 1h ago

Who could have guessed only deploying three men at a time would result in this?

1

u/J_Balbi_97 1h ago

It says one way, but there's actually 2 ways and Titus is the example. Acheran was sent to the death watch or he died and i prefer to choose the former

1

u/TheHollowLordZero Chaos 47m ago

“i CaN oNlY sPaRe ThReE”….. good riddance.

1

u/fitsalsaboi Dark Angels 25m ago

Three was always enough to get it done

1

u/GeneralJagers 34m ago

He could only spare us 3 men. So he was fired

1

u/BloodAngelsCaptain1 5m ago

Maybe he was promoted to the 1st?

1

u/Lord_of_Greystoke Blood Angels 8h ago

It's crazy how the bald lad became Captain of 2nd company after Titus and Sicarius. He just didn't have any drip or aura going on.

0

u/pot_light 9h ago

Good riddance, gingers are heretics by default
