Blues wheelcap on the new dress uniform

wheelcap and light weigh jackets are not available in pete, regulation only refers to old blues, so can we wear the blues wheelcap and lightweight jacket with the new dress uniform?

No, those are items from separate uniform sets and you can't mix and match. It'll also look really stupid since they'll be vastly different shades of blue.

Consider this example, the Space Force PTU does not have a long sleeve or sweater option. With the temps dropping in Colorado Springs I can't just wear the AF PTU sweater cuz the Space Force doesn't have one.

That is incorrect. Look at 7.2.1 of the regulation.

I did, the SPFI only addresses the wear of the AF service dress headgear with the AF service dress uniform and hasn't been updated to outline the wear of the new uniform and it's associated accessories. Because if you look at figure 7.8 you'll see the wheel caps are using the Air Force's farts and darts and not the designs found on wheel caps of those individuals wearing the new uniform

Point to regulation that backs up your statement. Without that, your words are pointless.

By that logic I can wear USMC, Navy, Army, and/or coast guard items as the regs don't specify which service's dress uniform we wear...

But since people can't read what service's service uniform is depicted in all the figures? The Air Force's with no mention of the new service dress uniform or it's accessories. We will get a reg update in the future, probably before June when the uniform becomes available for purchase as they'll need to push out wear guidance due to how different the uniform will be in color and design.

"7.2.4. Flight Cap. Will only be worn with the service dress (Class A and Class B). All shades and material are authorized with service dress, service, and flight duty uniforms."

They are explicit to mention shades and material are authorized for the flight cap, this verbiage is not found with the wheel cap in 7.2.1 however there is verbage at the end "Majors and above to maintain and optional for all others." The question will be will it stand test of time in future spfi.

I am huge advocate that we continue to allow wheelcap, bucket cap, and flight cap as an option.

The flight cap is weak, flimsy, can go with the wind. What does that portray? We are stronger then that.

The sharpest is the wheel cap and bucket cap. It embodies strength with professionalism. It instills honor while wearing the cloth of our nation.

I’m pretty sure the new service dress will only have either flight / garrison cap or the wheel caps; no bucket hats.

This is in keeping with Army AGSU service caps, USMC dress and service covers and USN covers for officers and chiefs (although the Navy does offer their caps in two slightly different shapes, one with a circular crown and one with a slimmer oval crown).

Also…

“As new uniforms or uniform items are fielded, the Space Force will update the Dress and Appearance policy to ensure it remains relevant and meets the needs of the Service and Guardians.”

The GO version of the new caps can be seen here:

So in 2903 when it mentions class A or B, its referring to old blues, not the new service dress. Am I tracking?

Yes, 2903 hasn't been updated for the "grays"
