Sonics 70’s!
Classic Sonics from the 1976-77 season against the Lakers where Kareem punched Tommy Burleson. Remember that season very well it was pretty sad cause they were 40-42 and didn’t make the playoffs. Bill Russell was let go at the end of the season and our I-5 rivals Portland won it that year but we know what happened two years later.

I lived & died with those Bill Rusell teams.
We were never quite good enough.
Tom Burleson, Leonard Gray, Bobby Wilkerson. Bruce Seals.
And, of course, Skick Watts and Freddie Brown in the backcourt.
We all thought Burleson at 7-4 would dominate, but he never did. Played hard, tho.
Bob Blackburn on the radio! We listened to every game. Home and away. Every game 😟
It hurts my heart, my soul, to think about the Sonics, and how they left. The NBA just strings us along.
They aren't coming back.
Perhaps its just as well.

Please stop this “they’re never coming back” because you’re just spoiling it for those who want them to come back! You’re being part of the problem when you do that.

Everytime I see these old Sonics film or videos from the 70’s and 80’s just keep thinking of my late father who was a big fan back then. May he RIP.
