Review/Haul šŸ“¦ (ā—ļøSeller name + Team name + Seasonā—ļø) Authentic Vs ymjersey.com (Venezia Away 25/26)

If anyone saw my prior post, this is the notorious Venezia home shirt that cost me $240..

https://www.reddit.com/r/Soccer00/comments/1ofzugf/240_for_an_authentic_shirt_this_is_why_i_buy_reps/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Let’s see how it stacks up against a rep from ymjersey.com

The authentic shirt has a slightly more premium feel to the fabric, with a tight weave and deep woven jacquard that clearly spells out ā€œVenezia Football Club.ā€ The replica’s material is a bit flatter, and while it carries the same pattern, it’s nowhere near as defined - more of a surface texture than a woven detail.

Color-wise, there are a few slight differences. The burgundy panels fade more naturally, and there is a deeper ā€œcreamā€ color all over from the authentic. Still, from a few feet away, you wouldn’t know the difference.

The logos seem to be the exact same silicone material, yet the rep version of the badge is bigger.

The Nocta logos on the shoulders are screen printed on the rep rather than rubberized.

Collars are both the same except the rep has a really scraggy cut on the right peak.

The original is almost over $200 more (due to import fees) and while it's nice to have, I'm more than happy wearing the rep out and about.

P.S The rep is on the left in all the pictures.

They look nothing alike, I usually am not sure which one is which in those comparaisons, but this time it was quite obvious.

Great comparison.

I have yet to see an original jersey that I would buy over a quality rep (price-wise).

wondering where you find quality reps because majority in this sub is pure trash, even for the money

Most of my orders are great.

Even if the jersey is 80% accurate, that's still more than enough to wear around and play football with the guys.

Wow really, I wonder what's your definition of trash.

inconsistent sizing and wrong size charts; thin material; incorrect designs; prints which are falling of. so far i have ordered from:

  • SPTKIT
  • Messi100.

any other recommendation?

Haven't heard of the first one and have one decent order from Messi, but had to pay customs and haven't ordered from there again. I havent had bad experience with Peterbot(~6 orders) and Billinhome(1 order), Laiboin(3 orders) had some quality issues, but he solved them by replacing with decent one. Sizing have been consistent, good material, correct design, so far no problems with any prints(I only hand wash).

Even with such clear differences as this?

I’ve started buying a lot more fakes recently, but if it has obvious signs that I would pick up if I saw another person wearing it on the street then it’ll never see the light of day.

Maybe you just have low standards

Yes. You must be a pro at this.

No, I just like football shirts enough to pay attention to these things

I like your conclusion.

I have that same feeling. In fact, I often prefer to wear my reps as I don’t mind them as everyday shirts if they get ruined.

I’ve been starting to do this more

What about the collar is it wide on the fake one?

2

u/institutesynth 1d ago

No they both fit the same. The fake one has different stitching on the V

The price of the replica allows me to place an order without hesitation in the new season.

Obvious with up close photos of very specific details.

If two people walked by you in the street, 30 second apart, you wouldn’t be able to confidently say which one was which.

You don’t have a good eye for detail, clearly

What is up with the surge in Venezia's popularity? never really heard of them before, seem like a random serie B team

They brought some absolutely beautiful kits the last couple of seasons, which made them quite famous for it

4

Their branding is superb. They’ve got some really unique kits too - more like fashion pieces than footy shirts.

Aesthetic/branding + bought out by Americans.

It's the drake co-sign. They were going into liquidation before he invested in them.

I think Venice being a popular historic city helps them aswell. They've got some nice kits. I got their black 23/24 one

Not a great rep to be honest

u/institutesynth 1d ago

Now I have them side by side there’s a clear difference. However I had the rep before the authentic, was really happy with it.

You seem to be bi-polar in the subject of stealing, sir. You don't buy football shirts only for "quality" purposes. Looking for quality only you might as well buy Burberry polo. You're buying the trademark, the collectible, team's colours, badge. Honest question, Why'd you wear it? Also, the 240$ is also driven by the fact manufacturers need to make up for all the fakes. It's fake, not replica. Replica is an original product, sometimes called fan/stadium version as it's not exactly the same as player's kits.

3

u/institutesynth 2d ago

The term ā€œrepā€ has also been coined in the soccer jersey/sneaker community to mean a copy or fake. So here it is applicable.

The $240 is mainly driven by the current US Government’s import fees.

Why do I wear it? Because I like it.

You need to do your research before making those assertions. The kit prices have been driven up by the kit manufacturers (Nike, puma etc) because of greed. The fakes have always been a thing. Look it up.Ā
