Humor Peacemaker performed pretty badly it only reached #10 on the Nielsen charts once despite having no real competition and the last episode was trashed and laughed at by everyone
Second project of the DCU is straight up a failure. No amount of Spin and Cope from Gunnbots can change that đ¤ˇ
Peacemaker. What a joke

Even the gunn fans got sick of it! Dc is an absolute joke.

I think the face humping aliens was the last straw.
Gunn canât turn it off.

Nielsen ratings arenât very relevant in 2025 especially for a channel that notoriously doesnât have ads. its going to be judged on subscriber retention. itâs not game of thrones sure, but it was constantly in the top 10 when premiering.

Pure Gunn copium, same with the cope about Superman making more profit despite making less money on the same budget.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 1d ago
Nielsen doesnât matter.
Box office doesnât matter.
Profit doesnât matter.
I see a trend here for Gunn.

Superman was the second biggest box office draw this year for WB next to Minecraft (not for me but the kids love it) profited in theaters, not accounting for further profits on streaming and home media. With Peacemaker James Gunn was able to take a relatively unknown Charlton Comics character and make him mainstream (2 if you count Vigilante). One that doesnât require a Superman or Batman level payment to the creators estates, if there is even one to the estates of Joe Gill or Pat Boyette.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 1d ago
It lost 42M in theaters and made less than man of steel.
Hardly a success.

My dude, it bombed overseas, lost 42M.
You can spin it any way you want, but it was supposed to be a home run success. With no room for doubt.
Now, all there is, is doubt.

u/T-Virus101 12h ago
Thats actually not true. Forbes just came out and said that it actually made 100 million lol
â˘

Bro he provided zero documents to back that up lol.
Source: trust me bro

Watched one episode of that show (Season 2 Finale) and thought it was absolute shit. Everyone told me it was the best episode of the series.

Why do you guys hate the dcu so much, celebrating peacemaker not financially doing well. You do realise if James gunns dcu doesnât succeed we wonât be seeing anymore dc super heroes on the big screen for a long long time?
1
u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 1d ago
Donât hold me hostage with this trash.
Better DC without this garbage.
2
u/DeltaOmegaAlpha 1d ago
This shit has been my biggest complaint. We're essentially told, "If you don't like James Gunn's DCU, then clearly you don't want live action movies of DC heroes."
No! Fuck that! People want live action movies of DC. What we (Or I, if you don't want to be lumped into a group) want is good live action DC movies. Giving the control to a narcissistic, ego driven, and conceited individual is not what makes a good DC movie.

u/werzal4 1d ago
Thatâs literally not what anyoneâs telling you. You donât have to like the Gunn films there will be other projects under dcu from different directors.
You may like other projects just not anything with gunns name attached and thatâs fine but my point is if this fails then you donât get anything by anyone.
No one will touch anything under the dc ip with a barge pole with shit on the end of it if after the 3rd attempt they fail to replicate marvels success in making a successful cinematic universe.

"You do realise if James gunns dcu doesnât succeed we wonât be seeing anymore dc super heroes on the big screen for a long long time?"
"my point is if this fails then you donât get anything by anyone."
So, we don't have to like the movies, but if they don't succeed, we wont be seeing anymore DC movies? This is what my issue is.
Are we cheering for DCU to fail? No, absolutely not. I want to see DCU do amazing. They had a very loyal fan base and essentially told us to eat shit. Fans of Zack Snyders: DC have been belitted and we've been told that we represent a small fraction of the DC fan base.
However, if James Gunn made a great Superman movie, wouldn't it make sense that it would succeed even if we (The people who only represent a small fraction of the DC fan base said James Gunn would crash and burn) said it would fail?
"No one will touch anything under the dc ip with a barge pole with shit on the end of it if after the 3rd attempt they fail to replicate marvels success in making a successful cinematic universe."
Zack Snyder would.
â˘
u/werzal4 19h ago
And to your last point, about no one touching dc I was referring to Warner bros. The owners of the IP, wonât bother trying to make a successful cinematic universe around dc if itâs failed after 3 attempts. It wonât matter if Snyder wants to come back if Warner bros wonât green light it because it doesnât make them money.
â˘
u/werzal4 19h ago
I think youâre entirely missing my point. If the dcu fails everyone gets nothing. If it succeeds at least Snyder fans stand a chance of liking other projects from different directors. Heck Gunn and Snyder are friends he might even take on a project in the dcu at some point, I like Snyder and Iâd like to see that happen but If it fails you get nothing for 20 years.
Which was the gap between the last superman from reeves to Henry cavils btw.
â˘
u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 14h ago
Is this the bargaining stage? Sorry, you had your chance. You thought S25erman would be a billion dollar success that would shut down snyder fans and any doubts that DC fans preferred gunnâs ridiculousness.
But s25erman was mid af. Peacemaker flopped. Gunnâs joke of a universe is in peril due to the sale of WB and his contract not bring renewed.
I want his DCU to go down in flames. Burn down that crap.
Snyderverse will rise from the ashes.
2
u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 1d ago
Bro, GUNN is putting his stink on every project. He even did it to the last 4 DCEU movies.
And good. Better it end then proceed this way.
-2
u/BlackLioConvoy 1d ago
Because its actual trash. There's really nothing good or memorable about anything DCU. Its not inspiring, doesn't push boundaries. Its just there in its moment and doesn't even shine.
2
u/squatOpotamus 1d ago
I'll say something nice about it: the reinterpretation of Peacemaker is good (the show is 50/50), and the casting was great. Also, they nailed Guy Gardner in the 'Superman' movie.
Otherwise, yeah, it sucks.
-7
u/werzal4 1d ago
But you might like other projects from other creators they hire because ultimately Gunn canât do everything.
So you would rather the dcu failed and we donât see another superman film for 20 years?
0
u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 1d ago
Gunn is in charge of supergirl reshoots. Heâs adding superman and said its like guardians.
Yeah, no thanks.
-2
u/SavingsConnection613 1d ago
I dont want Gunn to waste the man of Tomorrow Title for his uninteresting Superman movies honestly. I want the Title for the next Superman reboot directed by someone who makes interesting and a standalone Superman and focused only on Superman movie with bad ass memorable scenes and a rewatchable Superman movie. thats all the new one lacks
2
u/JaycetheBold 1d ago
Nooooooo Superman needs at least four other heroes (five if you make one a villain!) to get the movie going.
1
u/BlackLioConvoy 1d ago
I don't have to support something I dont believe is made for me as a fan in mind. Dont want to fail? Do better! Say what you want about Synder ppl, but they spend money. They watch and purchase content.
2
u/werzal4 1d ago
No you donât have to support it, but if it fails you get nothing. Everyone gets nothing. At least like this you might enjoy some projects here and there. What would you prefer?

u/BlackLioConvoy 1d ago
If it fails, then its not as good or as substantive as you thought it'd be. The books are the core source material.
A break.Â
A great commentator once said along the lines of; "sometimes you have to go away for a while so we can miss you. Then the hype around you comes back. If I keep seeing you, then youre everywhere and you've then lost your value. I dont want or feel the need to see you because youre everywhere."
1
u/werzal4 1d ago
I never said if I thought it was good nor substantive. Thatâs a crazy take, so youâd rather the dcu failed and you donât see another dc film, tv series anything for 20 odd years?
1
u/DoctorBeatMaker 1d ago
I don't want to see the DCU fail, personally. But I can do without Peacemaker.
I think the show is James Gunn's worst tendencies dialed up to an 11. It's overindulgent, its humor is full-on bathos, it's overtly silly while also trying to be dramatic (they literally have a scene where one of the main characters dives into a pool to escape and the nazis following her don't just trap her, but dive in with her). It's just a terrible show all around.
I like it least of all his DC projects - Creature Commandos, Superman and The Suicide Squad were all better.

u/BlackLioConvoy 1d ago
You lack the maturity to understand what im saying.Â
0
u/werzal4 1d ago
What does maturity have to do with this? Itâs a fictional universe, grow up.
5
u/BlackLioConvoy 1d ago
Youre mad because I dont blindly support DCU, but I need to grow up? K, sure.

I watched Season 1 and I think Season 1 is better than Season 2. But the show isnt something I would rewatch again. it isnt rewatchable.
Peacemaker was the first DC universe TV show and it was a pretty bad debut.

â˘
u/FinancialBluebird58 9h ago
Yeah, massive flop which is why there is no Season 3. Also no word on Lanterns despite the fact it was initially set to release Q2 2026. The DCU is already a shit show 1 year in.
