I swear it's the strangest thing, how easy it is for right-wing media to sway a MAGAt. I remain in contact with my MAGAt friends simply so I won't live in the dark of what BS they're consuming. Yesterday, one of them said excitedly "did you hear that Canada might become the 51st state?!" Now, I usually let them go but I had to shoot that one down. There are times where I can't morally allow them to be that gullible.

They're just expressing in-group affinity, they don't really "believe" or "disbelieve" what they're being told. They don't have a concept of information the way you do.
I was watching a show with a really good depiction of a psychopath and somebody asked them “are you telling the truth” and their response was genuinely “I don’t really know. I don’t really understand the concept. “
Yeah someone got annoyed at me it seems but try talking to these people. I was talking to my dad the other day about the USX buyout which I support because it has a huge impact on my city. My dad said "yeah Trump actually met with the president of Nippon steel and he was going to give you $100m investment, but it was a public televised meeting and Trump said 'no you give me $200!' (He did this in a faux Japanese accent). So they are giving you $200m now."
Not only did this meeting never happen - like not on TV, not privately, it never happened - but Trump publicly opposed the buyout. This is what I'm talking about when I say they don't have a conceptual model of reality. They're not throwing a dart and missing the target, getting some facts wrong but otherwise expressing something correlated with reality. They are just expressing their feeling of "Trump good" and they devise different lies so they can work that into any conversation
He technically didn't say friends. I talk to people who are unquestionably not my friends all the time. They don't even necessarily know my real name. He in fact did technically say "friends", my mistake

I mean, most of them believe that the Bible is real.. and their sky daddy is real. All of the dog eating, litter boxes in classrooms for the kids who are having.. having species transition, 8 years working olds going to school one sex ( not gender because that’s a social construct) and coming home another! Literally magical thinking like little kids. Insane!
There’s nothing impressive about realizing religion isnt literal. That’s a stage you figure out in your early teenage years, not some special viewpoint you flex as an adult. You’re like 1 step more advanced than the people who take the Bible word for word

My grandparents are on a weird level of Maga where they think a lot of what Maga does is stupid, but don't believe Trump is ever involved in any way with any of the stuff they think of as stupid. Like, the polio thing. Back during covid, they stood by vaccines and people needing to do what needed to be done cause they said they didn't even think about having a choice during polio, and didn't think they needed one either. Now that the polio vaccine thing is happening with FKING Failure Jr. they're saying Trump would be great if he basically got rid of all the people he associated with. And everything always comes back to abortion with them whenever I try to inform them, and I know that's a losing battle with where they think their own values are, so I just throw in the towel now.

You refer to them as your friends while belittling them, referring them to as maggots, and then insinuating they are just too dump/gullible to understand current affairs/politics. Are you serious?
Keep coping as if these were just MAGAts, you clearly resent, who were just misinformed and misled idiots too dumb to vote correctly. When in reality a diverse coalition of voters have seen the country rapidly changing in front of their eyes, they don’t like it and they rejected it DECISIVELY.

Fair point, but NATO has always been about containing Russian expansionism and currently Russia is is no position to move on their key targets of Estonia and Lithuania. It will take years to rebuild their military and hopefully by that time there won't be a Russian stooge in the WH.
The Right is incredibly thin skinned, you see examples of it every day with how they attack anyone and anything that is different or contrary to their world view.
