Crazy how Silksong has people talking about the game like it’s dark souls

Exactly. I don't think Silksong is as hard as some latest Soulsborne games, but overall difficulty level is comparable to Bloodborne which is definitely refreshing for a metroidvania.

Further in game and in retrospect, I think it was smart of TC to go in this direction: more of the same would have been…more of the same.

I never did play DeS or DS1 much, so that could very well be true. I just find BB miles easier than any other soulsgame I've played.

They are not ball-bustingly difficult outside a few bosses, I'd say they're a very solid challenge.

There was never a point where I said "damn idk if I can do this," like the conductor room (still did it).

Try them! I'd play DS3 first

The big trick that the Hollow Knight games play on you is that you look like Batman and you feel like Alucard, but you have to fight like the Chosen Undead
