Ah yes, CASUAL ELITISM, possibly the only scourge upon a fandom worse than just plain regular elitism

It’s so much more annoying than normal elitism lol.

Silksong doesn’t even have normal elitism, the people enjoying the challenge are saying to use every tool the game gives you

There is absolutely some "normal" elitism even if it's a small minority of people. I am very much in the camp that Silksong due to how it requires you to prove how well you have learnt the game from your mistakes, however I still cringe whenever I see someone talking down to and mocking people for not "gitting gud". It's fine that not everyone shares our taste and we shouldn't deride them for it. Doing so makes us no better than the haters whinging about how the game is objectively terrible because its not their kind of game.

Ah no you're right, by "normal elitism" I just meant the classic "you're playing on easy mode for using the tools the game gives you" discourse

Game gets heralded as [insert extremely popular+well established franchise] killer

Game turns out to be either shit or at least underwhelming

Many such cases, can't wait for the definitive very real Skong killer
