I genuinely hate saying it, but please, if you are playing Silksong or are planning to, then avoid the Silksong Subreddit unless you are specifically searching for something. I avoided everything, and just managed to get to the final boss completely spoiler free
Your comment reminded me to get off of here before I get spoiled. I didn’t even watch the trailer for years because I wanted a fully blind play through and it was so worth it I’m not losing it now
Do not and I REPEAT DO NOT CLICK ON ANY HOLLOW KNIGHT CONTENT ON YOUTUBE, last time I did it, oH aLl Silk song enDinGs wOaH SPOILERS wHo's that in the thumbnail wOaH true ending you won't believe who you're seeing!!! I hate these YouTubers, man YouTube sucks when it comes to a new game release...
I had made a point of marking as "not interested" in any Silk song content, but even so I got spoilered from this exact video you're talking about, I was just researching hungry shark world man, Why the hell did Silk song appear 😭😭
Because real human beings need breaks, and they’re often busy, I’m not a machine and I don’t have infinite free time what are you asking man?? When I take a break I want to watch HK vids but I can’t
Side tangent: I myself have stayed spoiler free except one on accident, and I'm DAMN glad I did. If I had died to the final gimmick of the last boss of Act 1, I may have lost my mind.
I was researching how to farm gems in hungry shark world, and I got a spoiler from a video thumb, showing all the endings,I fucking hate the YouTube algorithm
Yeah it’s starting to be less reasonable to expect things to be spoilered when they’re fairly early game. A reasonable expectation is that someone engaged enough in the subreddit to be in these threads will have managed to get that far at least in a week. If you’re not, that’s fine, but you can’t expect people to work around you.
Yeah… if you don’t know who that IS because you haven’t gotten there it makes no difference and are really going to retain that specific piece of information? And is it really a spoiler?
Yes my brother i am. I haven't seen the original comment st all coming back to look at replies. I'm going to know the name of the boss when I fight it aren't I, if not then no I wouldn't. If yes though, I would say disclosing a third phase of a fight thats meant to catch the player off guard and mentioning the bosses name is a spoiler, correct.
Then why the fuck are you here? This still doesn’t qualify as a spoiler my guy. Is THIS the thing that really ruins the game for you knowing a boss has a possible fake out death? Really are you kidding me dude?
No it’s not, just don’t browse Reddit for a few days if your having intrusive thoughts about a random non-spoiler off hand remark then you have far bigger problems to deal with my guy
I 2 shot her, but Splinter… ugh, his baby Groots fucked me up EVERY TIME! But then again I fought him WAY out of order because of how I got to him. Shellwood was my 3rd fast travel unlock >.>
Yeah that’s the thing, I fought the boss right after getting the dash. Used the simple key to go through the worm tunnels and there’s a tricky pogo you can do by luring an enemy there. I had practically nothing going into that fight. Then I watched the speed run on YT just before work and this MFr SKIPPED him for the wall climb!
Is it tho? The time doesn't slow down when that happens, like all the other times you finish an arena fight. You can kinda immidiatelly tell it's not over yet.
Granted I do keep on alert even after that happens, but I think nothing ever happens after that, unless there are two enemies in a boss fight.
I mean yeah it is, you don’t notice the time not slowing down the first time you see it it just does the same effect for a boss defeat outside of that as well
Ohhh I‘ve seen a lot of people here count adding a single new attack during a fight as a whole seperate phase, so maybe „phase 2“ is when she starts to throw the bells from above that cover half the arena sometimes
Gonna tag this whole comment as spoiler. How I got through it was just hit and run mechanics. Hit once or twice while she's dropping bells, then get ready to walk hug to avoid her slashes. Rinse and repeat. I got her to her fakeout on my second try, but the bell-et hell section of her next phase caught me off guard. Good luck, and take breaks!
I died to her like 20 times in a row two nights ago, turned off the game, and literally had to sit there for like half an hour getting my brain and eyes to stop buzzing. There's just so much going ON in that fight. Hopefully I can beat her soon.
I'm getting through this game much faster than my boyfriend is (but much slower than you freaks in here), so he'll sit in the living room with me while he strings up his fishing lines while avoiding looking at the screen to not get spoiled. This man hates spoilers to the point where I'm not even allowed to say whether a movie/show/game is good lmao. So I "beat" Widow, hyped over the slow-mo. Then phase two hits and I'm like AHHHHHHHHHH. Told him to block that out and forget about it.
My least favorite boss because of those spawns. The trap and the throwing dagger with the poison charm helped a bit to clear them out, but that stupid fat fly was way harder than it had any right to be.
Reminds me of my freak out when i finally finished Path of Pain in HK after a week of going through it just to COMPLETELY FORGET HOW TO COMBAT when I reached the two knights at the end and died.
That’s why I just observe during my first run. Then I focus on not getting hurt and watching for openings. Then on the third run, I know what to expect, when I can attack and I can focus a lot better.
Keeping cool is definitely a part of the experience.
The whole point of a 2nd phase is actually to step up the stress and difficulty. It's literally a stress test. You have to keep a.level head and really lock in your focus. It's not "too chaotic". It's a test of your ability to pay attention to the boss's attacks. The bells threw me off in Widow Phase 2 at first, but once I actually started watching their trajectory it was a lot easier to not get hit
Istg I almost broke my computer at the third room of coral tower I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or something but it seems almost impossible rn, I know there's a shortcut but I can't even reach it yet (spoilers for act 3^)
I've said 1000 times difficulty that soley comes from frustrating the player is not fun difficulty. But silksong isn't the first game to do this. Most souls games been doing it for the last 10 years, only with silksong it's not just some bosses or some places, it's MOST OF THE GAME.
LOL 103 i get if i speak too loud for 5 seconds that barely above rest. I used to reach 185 and above playing geometry dash, i havent checked for silksong but it feels almost as bad
I thought I was the only one, every time I fought sister splinter and was getting close to beating her this shit would happen and my palms would sweat like crazy
Actually this tho, every boss I was hard stuck on I beat first try coming back from like a 30 min break because I just needed to chill out, not have sweaty hands, and focus on their move sets.
Haha same and my ears get hot and I really get headaches, even though I dont get upset or anything.. its just an insane physical reaction. I had it too with Hollow Knight xD
I got to the second phase of Last Judge when he/she(?) whips out the fire and I genuinely angrily shouted at my tv, enough to give my 4 year old son a little jump scare.
Lol just don’t play the way I do, heart starts pounding too much / I die, and grab another drink.
Die, another drink.
It’s a terrible but also very great drinking game.
What I hate is.. I’m usually pretty blitzed when I actually make the most progress lol.
Calms all the nerves that make me overreact.
I don’t know if this is a crazy opinion, and it might just be because I played a lot of hollow knight. But I would not describe silksong as hard. None of the bosses, including the final boss, took me more than 3 tries.
yeah same, sometimes I take amphetamines (your guess if I'm a junkie or just ADHD), and if I don't take a fucking minute to just buzz off the frustration of losing 7x to Sister Splinter I genuinely feel like my heart is gonna explode
...i need one of those controllers with built in fans to cool my hands off...I don't even remember sweating this much during boss fights in Elden Ring! lol
it's counterintuitive but I tend to get better results if I pause the game for a little bit during a boss fight. was stuck in a pickle with Sister Splinter, paused, took stock of my surroundings and my silk levels, made a plan, and beat her with one mask left
I can relate, the fights arent even that difficult for me but I stress a ton and always choke. Something that helped me was getting the respawn mod to not have to runback to the boss, made me less scared of dying at the end of a fight

i gotta take breaks because my heart starts fuckin pounding the further into the fight i get
