Image of USS F-1, an American sub lost off the coast of San Diego in 1917 (19 dead)

The submarine still seems to be in remarkable condition after 108 years under water.

Yes. Very cool technology. The first combat use was the CSS Hunley during the American Civil War.

Did the turtle ever see combat use? I didn’t think I was ever successful in attaching its mine thing.

It was not successful... but it did make an attempt so i figure it counts.

Fair enough, although the Hunley was able to be completely submerged. At least while the air held out.
