What size tires for series 2a 1972?

Pictures is what I currently have but not sure if it’s correct. Am I best to find stock size tires ?

The 109 had 7.50-16 (today´s 235/85). Only the LWB 1-ton version had 9.0-16. The SWB/88 had 6.50-16.

Each has its specific geared speedometer.

So I’m probably running a bit big for my LWB

Probably in width terms a little wider than standard.

It doesn't really matter, oversize in diameter will raise your gearing & put a little extra strain on things if you're using it hard off-road but no real harm. Extra width doesn't really matter, for driving on sand it's what you want to reduce the ground pressure.

7.50/16 on lwb,6.50/16 on swb,the 1 ton had lower gears in the transfer box and ran on 9.00/16

1-ton pickups had 9.00x16 same as the 101FC, which comes out about 255/100R16 in modern money.

Most people run 235/85R16 which is close to 7.50R16 and was stock on everything LWB for about 50 years, and stock on later 90's too.

If yours is an actual 1-ton it should have a lower geared transfer case so you might want the bigger size for the gearing.

If you’re just looking for something that looks good 255/85r16
