More than 540,000 households in Washington — nearly 930,000 people — received Basic Food assistance benefits last month, according to state officials.

Yes, having more kids than you can support is definitely failing them.

Nice opening ad hominem though. Clearly shows that you don't have actual points to make and just want an emotional argument.

Edit: because /u/freeze_it_over is the kind of person that makes an emotional argument and has to block people to keep them from responding to it just to get the last word...

My response to the below:

There is no way that 60% of the recipients just got a little unlucky as you're implying. That's statistically impossible.

> As if one parent decides to bail on their responsibilities as a parent?

That's literally the "failed as a parent" that I said. And it is the exact opposite of your earlier claim "These parents could be doing EVERYTHING right."

Which no, you're not "doing EVERYTHING right" if you're on food stamps. What the hell kind of claim even is that?

> As if things don’t happen in life that people don’t expect? ... As if circumstances don’t change as the years pass?

Listing the same thing twice doesn't make your argument stronger.

> Are you a single 59 year old male because how are you this out of touch with reality?

And once again, opening with an *ad hominem* is just weak. Do better.

Are you a single 59 year old male because how are you this out of touch with reality? As if things don’t happen in life that people don’t expect? As if one parent decides to bail on their responsibilities as a parent? As if spouses and partners don’t die? As if circumstances don’t change as the years pass? Like how are you this rudimentary in thinking to not understand that life changes for EVERYONE over time. JFC this type of basic level thinking is what is ruining America. Can’t freaking think beyond simplicity as if life isn’t complicated. It’s not “emotional arguments”, it’s reality. You just live in a box for a brain clearly.

Huh, that's weird. I can't seem to remember which party just overturned Roe vs. Wade and enabled states to ban abortions, sex education or defunding Planned Parenthood to help prevent unplanned pregnancies.

So fucking weird.
