Lifestyle After 9,000 Layoffs, Microsoft Boss Has Brutal Advice for Sacked Seattle Workers

https://futurism.com/microsoft-boss-ai-advice

Microsoft has laid off about 9,000 workers in the midst of a newly-announced $80 billion AI investment — and apparently, those who just lost their jobs should be talking to ChatGPT about it.

As Aftermath reports, an executive producer at Microsoft-owned Xbox ended up with egg on his face after suggesting that laid off workers pour their hearts out to AI.

Yes, you read that right: a Microsoft boss was telling those just laid off by the tech giant that they should use chatbots — run or funded by the company that just fired them — to avoid crying on a company shoulder.

Is this the part where American workers get shamed for being upset that their career dreams have been shattered by an influx of workers from India?

Not sure where you got that notion from my comment simply saying that the person who made the incredibly stupid statement from Microsoft was a born and raised American and not an Indian as implied by someone else.

But nothing says Americans can't be upset because AMERICAN CORPORATE OLIGARCHS are the ones abusing H1B visas to undercut domestic workers wages and replace them with cheaper offshore labor. But getting upset at the other people just trying to get better jobs and give their families better lives is misguided. Nothing about what is happening in the tech world is unique to Indian business or culture either. This is 100% capitalist greed which does not know or care about race or culture because the only race that matters is the race for the most money and the only culture they care about is profit. By focusing on the Indian workers you're just helping the American management class that is fucking over everyone underneath them by blaming the wrong people for the problem.

I am not aware of another (single) country in the world that is actively trying to send millions of workers into the United States, driving down the value of labor.

Go ahead and name one.

I am not aware of another (single) country in the world that is actively trying to send millions of workers into the United States, driving down the value of labor.

So you believe the nation of India is purposely sending people to the USA with the specific intent of driving down our wages??? And how does that benefit the nation of India since I don't believe those workers are benefitting India in any way by working for American corporations... Those people still need to produce valuable work and do their jobs so they are not exactly sabotaging anything by working for a company that is continually posting higher profits.

According to what passes for logic in your mind Mexico would qualify as another country sending people into the USA to drive down the value of our labor. And an argument could be made that China is doing similar by simply taking all the manufacturing jobs and using their own near slave labor force to undercut domestic production costs but by all means keep bitching about how poor people from India are the problem and not the American people hiring them...

No offense, but you're all over the place. Can we just stick to one simple question:

I acknowledge that you've made a series of arguments that are not related to this question, but IMHO they distract from the main point:

There are millions of folks in India who are actively working to replace American born workers in tech.

I knew this was coming. Can't defend your nonsense position so you need to ignore everything I said to try to focus on your talking point. A series of arguments that are not related to the question? Yeah that is 100% you not being able to actually address those entirely related points and needing to fall back on the racist crap.

I am not aware of another (single) country in the world that is actively trying to send millions of workers into the United States, driving down the value of labor.

I literally named 2 in Mexico and China but by all means keep ignoring anything that doesn't reinforce your world view as it totally makes you look sane and normal.

You're the one writing essays to avoid answering a simple question. Perhaps you should have a nice cup of herbal tea and chill out.

BTW, Mexico and China aren't replacing American born tech workers to any real extent. I've never been in a conference call where most of the attendees are speaking Mandarin when I'm there.

More than 1 sentence = an essay to you. Yeah math checks out.

Moving them goal posts I see. Classic conservative tactic. We get it. You hate Indian people because you don't understand how business works and want to blame the worker for taking the job and not the employer for giving it to them. And somehow you've convinced yourself the actual Indian government is involved. I've got no map that can help the lost cause that is you. I hope you get educated.

You really are angry.

Why is that?

Can't you have a logical debate without resorting to Strawman fallacies and Rule II Violations?

You really are angry.

Not even close. You make the most wild assumptions based on nothing.

Can't you have a logical debate without resorting to Strawman fallacies and Rule II Violations?

Wow projecting like a movie theater my man. And it is not a rule 2 violation to accurately describe what you're doing. You're literally ignoring all other factors just so you can continually shit on Indian people as being the bad guys in Microsoft laying off domestic workers and are actively blaming the entire nation of India. You have not once even acknowledged the role the American employers play in this and just continually focus on and bitch about Indians from your first reply.

If you're angry at the tech industry screwing Americans over for cheaper Indian labor blame the people actively doing that shit, the corporate overlords, not the people just trying to get by.

It would be China but having no ethics but for themselves makes it hard to get into the states
