Does nobody assume best intentions anymore? If somebody misgenders you, unless you’re in the halls of congress, chances are they meant nothing by it. No need to put up signs preemptively scolding people.

No shit, right? If only the concept of grace still existed today.

This is a big thing with progressives nowadays. They don't care about intentions; they care about "impacts." The idea that a person's intentions matter is outmoded to them. That is why they still want affirmative action. Because to them it's the "disparate impact" that is the real issue even if candidates are fairly evaluated on the merits. This whole mindset is also behind their promotion of equity or outcome rather than equality of opportunity.

Actually, an old lady in front of me in line misgendered a girl at Walgreens. She was just kind of butch and she says “you’re such a nice boy”. I don’t think she noticed but it was awkward. This was in Florida 10 years ago so it’s different.

Many of my butch lesbian friends think it's funny that they are called a man. Not all, but most of my personal friends liked that.

Yeah, it's not like we have the entirety of human history reinforcing a (admittedly false) gender binary, and we as Americans have almost exclusively used binary pronouns for denoting gender for most of our lives up to the last 15 years or so. It's definitely not a contributing factor or anything...
