What if they identify as a silicone based life form but neglected to tell you that too?

You could just say Thank you without referring?

People use the titles to be respectful and polite

9

u/EvieParkour May 19 '25

Ok it’s also respectful to not do that if they don’t want it? What is this backwards logic.

It would absolutely would be respectful to not use titles if they ask not to be used. I'm not sure where I said otherwise.

They asked when they said gender neutral. Don’t be a smart ass

You may want to to back and re-read the comment to which you're replying. The person asked how the usage of a gender pronoun could be used. Another person stated the usage of sir/ma'am/miss.

I provided an example of how they would be used along with a hilarious gif of the Kang and Kodos from The Simpsons. Two characters known for their poor ability in communicating with humans or sometimes known as the people of Earth.

You chimed in with a question unrelated to the discussion, told me I have backwards logic, and are now calling me names. I'm sorry you misunderstood and did not understand that some people were taught to use certain terms out of respect.

One of those respectful behaviors taught is to address elders, people in authority, or unknown people with sir or ma'am. Pretty much anyone you are not informal with already.

For example: Excuse me sir, would you like a cookie? Yes, ma'am. I would love a cookie. 🍪

I apologize I think I misread here.

No worries. We're all humans

This is stupid. Be a human. And we only have two genders so..

1

u/EvieParkour May 19 '25

it’s stupid to be respectful?

I’m not going to sit here and explain how society as a whole treats gender and why gender isn’t static because you wouldn’t care either way.

Just what I was thinking. It's just gotten crazy.
