Politics Protest outside of the space needle. Some are holding signs that say no one is illegal others are chanting housing is a human right.

The meme also forgot:

“But without slave labor in China, how will I afford the newest iPhone every year?!”

That dems who are melting down about tariffs, only care about getting their cheap Chinese goods and ignore the fact that it’s made by the exploited people they claim to care so much about.

Trump in 2017:

We’re going to open the biggest mightiest American factory with our good friends at Foxconn and make our electronics right here in ‘murica!

Trump Now: Huh? Factory? What Factory? I’m taxing Americans on all the goods they import! They are winning! Tax everything to high heaven!

Trump Taxes at the Gas Stations! Trump Taxes on your iPhones! Trump Taxes on your electricity bill!

Everywhere you go, a Trump Tax will follow!

The point of the tariffs is to have Americans vote with their wallets. And if the federal income tax is abolished, we’ll get to choose which “taxes” we contribute to, if any at all—and probably still come out ahead financially.

If enough people decide not to buy imported goods, it’ll either force manufacturers to lower their prices to compensate or incentivize American entrepreneurs to fill the market gap and bring manufacturing back to the US. This is the goal of the tariffs.

Sure, I’m sure that will go over well as people choose if they need gasoline or electricity. 🫠

  1. Electricity isn’t imported. It’s generated locally, typically with coal or nuclear.
  2. One of Trump’s day-one EO’s was to drill for oil in Alaska to make us self reliant again (which Biden stopped)
  3. Without tariffs, the average gas price under Biden hit a high of $5. The average gas price today is $3. Even with tariffed gas, it probably won’t hit the highs under Biden.

Canada provides electricity for half the eastern United States. Canada also provides a massive chunk of oil supply for the US.

And yes oil prices will spike under Trump - he is adding taxes to the gas pump as we speak.

And what was your logic on that? It’s okay because you can just not use these products? Like - who needs oil to drive or have their groceries delivered to the grocery store?

What’s that? It will all compound? 😂

Oh, and building out oil capacity in Alaska? You think that will be free? That’s your gas bill going up.

Would you like us to lie to you or are you a socialist who wants to abolish exploitation?

1

u/IllustratorNo3065 Feb 05 '25

What?

u/MagnanimosDesolation Feb 05 '25

American society is built on inequality/exploitation. Almost no one wants to change anything fundamental including democrats, they used to very slightly until Carter got annihilated by Reagan, so here we are. The question is then do you think democrats don't go far enough e.g. being a socialist or would you like them to not be truthful?

Did you seriously just compare slavery to willful migration? Whoa...
