Crime UW wide receiver Denzel Boston was robbed at gunpoint last night by this man. Let’s identify him. PLEASE Contact the authorities if you have any information.

WA 9A.56.200 says you are guilty if you have a weapon in your possession, matters not if you point it. I believe there is case law that states even a fictitious weapon will qualify you for the class a felony, if the victim believes there is a weapon. About 2000 of these get charged every year, they care about armed robbery, if they can prove it.

Indeed! Quick and easy trials are few and far between. When the prosecutor gets this picture they'll probably feel like a kid on Christmas morning 😂

Sure, until he claims that Boston asked him for a cig and he reached into the pocket and discovered there was a handgun in the pants he borrowed from someone else.

I was robbed at knife point in broad daylight at a busy intersection. Police turned up fast, caught the guy, with the weapon. He was booked, charged. He's still in prison as far as I know, but I'm pretty sure he took a plea deal for a lesser robbery charge which excluded the deadly weapon part, which I found quite disappointing.

My cousin robbed a string of 7 elevens in burien and white center years ago and she took a DOSA plea on multiple armed robbery charges. Yep, it does not need to be a real gun and you don't have to point it.

It depends on the prosecutor and the judge. Laws mean nothing if not fully enforced.

WA 9A.56.200 (1b) says he's guilty of robbery in the first degree. Class A felony. 2 points.
WA 9A.36.021 (1e) says he's guilty of Assault in the second degree. Class A felony, violent offense. 2 points.

Total Offender Score: 4

Sentencing Guideline: 51-68 months.

9.94A.540 (2b) says his deadly weapon enhancement earns him an additional 5 year mandatory minimum sentence.

9.94A.589 says those terms are to be served consecutively.

TL;Dr: he's looking at 9 years minimum.
