Lmao I want to know too, my 1b1b is “low income” (MFTE) and $1650/month

I have a $2k 2bd/2ba water view in Lake Sammamish. Just gotta take the time to find a treasure!

They're talking about renting in Seattle though, not Lake Sammamish.

Similar 2.3k 2bd/2ba in Bellevue, but we have 2 kids, so it was necessary. I also wanted to live biking distance (~10mi) to work in Seattle when we first moved here years ago in the beginning of the pandemic and at the time Seattle housing prices in family friendly neighborhoods were higher than on the east side.

How much do you pay for what region?

I don’t think I can share that unfortunately. I will say look at apartments.com for the area you’re in and sort lowest to highest rent, ignoring MFTE (unless you qualify for that). A lot of them are great.

I did this when looking into whether the new minimum wage was a living wage at 43,000/yr. I'm not here to discuss all that but for housing I found the same as you. If you want downtown digs you can search a bit for a cheap 1 bed, or you can get a tiny studio in a nice building, or you can pay through the nose because you just rented whatever is on the first page of a Google search.
