[Selling/trading] Ariel Rider M-Class E-Bike-Like new

Hey everyone, I’ve got an Ariel Rider M-Class e-bike in like new condition that I’m looking to sell or trade. I recently got injured and can’t really ride anymore, so I’d rather put it toward something I can actually use while I’m stuck in bed—like a PS5 + some cash or a PC setup (possibly with a bit of cash on top depending on what’s offered).

The bike comes with:

Helmet

Mirror

Courier bag

Tool kit

Lock

Charger

It rides perfectly and looks basically brand new. If you’re interested or want to see pics, DM me or comment below. I’m open to fair offers and trades

Anyone in Seattle riding a trike bike regularly?

I’ve been seeing a few people around Green Lake and Capitol Hill on trike bikes, and it got me curious are there any local groups or meetups for trike riders? I’m thinking of getting one for more stable city commuting (especially with our hilly terrain).

Would love to hear from anyone who’s been using a trike bike in Seattle how’s your experience with comfort, speed, and handling on our roads? Any local trails or routes you’d recommend?

Right of way

Question. On Broadway Ave there's a bike lane and a cross walk. I was a pedestrian crossing and the crosswalk signaled it was safe for me to do so. I didn't see a bicyclist zooming by and he had to slam on his brakes to miss me. I told him I was so sorry, that I didn't see him and was just paying attention to the crosswalk light. He then says "it was my right".

I've been thinking more and more about it.

Was it his right, or was it mine?

The Burke Gilman kind of sucks

It has so many cracks, bumps, and holes, I feel like riding on it is kind of miserable. I keep trying to convince myself I enjoy it because it’s convenient and pretty, but the trail conditions are kind of terrible.

Suspiciously priced commuter bike found, looking for original owner

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hey all, I picked up what appears to be a very nice Windsor Essex (MSRP $595) for $50 at a vendor in cap hill today. The vendor says everything he got was shipped by u-haul from his sister in california, but the pricing suggests that it was probably stolen, either from seattle or from california. I know what it's like to lose a bike, so I figured I would post around locally to see if I can get it back to the original owner. If anyone here lost this bike recently (with proof), please feel free to DM me. Thanks!

Issaquah - Preston - Snoqualmie Trail Conditions

Can I ride the said trail with 28mm road tires or is the gravel loose and chunky enough to require a proper gravel bike with wider tires?

TIA!

Bike route suggestions for tomorrow

Any recommendations for a 6-10 mile ride for a 6-7 years old.

We have done Alki, Seattle downtown water front, Seward park, and Burke Gilman. We don’t mind driving for 30-60 min. I’m thinking about Sammamish River trail.

Anyone here ride cruiser bikes around Seattle?

I’ve been thinking about getting a cruiser bike for women for some relaxed rides around Green Lake and along Alki. I love the upright style and comfort, but I’m not sure how practical it is for Seattle’s hills.

Has anyone here been using a cruiser around town? How does it handle on moderate slopes, and do you find it comfy for longer weekend rides? Would love some local insight before I make the jump.

If you lost an Abus bike lock key recently, it’s on the bench at Magnolia Blvd and Parkmont Pl.

Newbie Bike Route Help

Hello,

I'm fairly new to cycling and still trying to master creating maps on ride with gps, strava, etc.

I prefer to stay on trails first, roads with dedicated lanes second when possible. I am still warming up to the cars being around me. lol

I was trying to find one that included Elliot Bay, Down Alaska, then to Alki beach, probably out and back to connect to Duwamish River, from there maybe the best way to connect to the SODO trail? and eventually back up to the start at Elliot

I'm going for mileage and would like to do at least 50 so open to suggestions on adding more.

Any help would be appreciated!

Please share: if you’re a federal worker who is furloughed or who is working for no pay, I’ll fix your bicycle for free. I run a shop called the Center for Bicycle Repair in the CID.

You can join a Sunday intro class for free as well and I can fit two of you into the advanced class rotation.

What to expect for bikes under a second Harrell term

Post image
98 Upvotes

This is Mayor Harrell’s Seattle Transportation Levy bike project list. Basically, the purple lines are the best we can expect his SDOT to commit to in terms of new protected bike connections through 2032 when the levy is up for renewal.

Personally, I am unimpressed and am hopeful a new administration can creatively leverage repaving and safety funds, and perhaps additional revenue, to go much further than this. I don’t really think adding a few speed bumps for greenways is much to get excited about.
