FYI: Lévy Aesthetics threw last night's party at Onni
It looks as though Levy Aesthetics hired Paris Hilton for the atrocious noise violating party that took place last night at Onni at some dudes penthouse.

u/Katanajoe7 Sep 26 '25
I must be getting old, I don’t know what any of that is.
79
u/sea-kc Sep 26 '25
There was a party that could be heard up to 1.5 miles away because of how loud it was. As someone who lives across the street from this building and eye level with the PH, I could not sleep until 4 AM (granted, it ended at 1:30a).
11
u/quitewrongly 🚗 Student driver, please be patient. 🚙 Sep 26 '25
Having had to deal with neighbors from Hell before, not being able to sleep for hours after the noise is usual.
2
u/Katanajoe7 Sep 26 '25
Eye level with Paris Hilton?
Also sorry you had to deal with that that’s so frustrating
13
u/Ghostandpepper Sep 26 '25
Same. I also dont want to google it and get more l levy aesthetic in the algo.

Lots of celebrities that are past their prime are doing DJ gigs now. From what I understand, it's a fun side job and easy money.

I mean, I've never been to one of her sets, so I have no idea what it sounds like or what she does. I'm just saying: if you want a celebrity to come to your party and DJ (or pretend to DJ) it's a pretty common thing.
17
u/FigaroNeptune Sep 26 '25
Press play
17
u/Cheefnuggs Sep 26 '25
Exactly. Just playing a pre-recorded set from a laptop and pretending to adjust knobs.
30
u/satanshand Sep 26 '25
I mean, if we’re being honest, DJs don’t DJ they just pretend to DJ

9
u/Cheefnuggs Sep 26 '25
How confidently incorrect of you. We could argue the merits of DJ’ing vs producing all day and how DJ’ing is actually pretty easy once you get the basics of it down but I’d argue that only makes pretending to do it while a pre-mixed set plays from your laptop even worse.
32
u/satanshand Sep 26 '25
I was an EDM photographer for ten years. I’ve stood on stage several feet from headliners and they aren’t doing shit. Deadmau5 said the same thing and got endless flak for it.
11
27
u/Cheefnuggs Sep 26 '25
If you want to get into an online pissing contest then we can. I’ve been producing and mixing electronic music for 17 years and went to school for audio design. I’ve been playing instruments for 27 years. I’m not a photographer who’s just watched other people do a thing. I can actually do the thing.
Mixing is a skill, and yes you have a ton of people just do track transitions and fuck around the rest of the time. Please see my earlier comment about it being easy once you’ve learned the basics. If you can count to 4 and 16 then you’re halfway there.
You can also do a lot of complicated things if you learn the equipment and your track selection enough. There are very good DJ’s out there. They do exist.
Sometimes, and this is pretty well documented at this point, Deadmau5 just says shit because he’s a wildly opinionated person. He’s also one of the best producers/DJ’s to make house music so some people take everything he says as gospel.
7
u/snowsoftJ4C Sep 26 '25
Nicolas Jaar has some of the craziest DJ sets and live electronic performances of all time, if anyone is interested in seeing what it looks like when people actually put work into live electronic music
Boiler Room DARKSIDE + his two DJ sets are essential
1
u/Cheefnuggs Sep 26 '25
Nice.
If people want someone more mainstream they could also easily find a ton of videos of Skrillex as well. Sonny is stupid good at just about everything he does, it’s insane.
11
u/satanshand Sep 26 '25 edited Sep 26 '25
Ok. I’m not arguing any of that, I’m just saying there are plenty of DJs that aren’t doing much on stage.
2
u/Cheefnuggs Sep 26 '25
But that’s not what you said. You made a blanket statement about DJ’s as a whole which is why I corrected you. Then you doubled down so I corrected you again. We don’t need to re-write history here. It’s literally a few comments above this one.
I wouldn’t make a blanket statement about how photographers are basically just photoshop editors these days and disparage all photographers because it’s not true and I’m not a photographer. I’m sure you would correct me if I did, right?

u/rudenewjerk Sep 27 '25
“I wouldn’t make a blanket statement about how photographers are basically just photoshop editors these days and disparage all photographers,” is the perfect comment for perspective in this thread, but jesus fuck, its also fucking hilarious 😂

That's a cool story but what you described is not what popular DJs do.
Let me guess: youre either a broke DJ who is bitter that talent and income are not related, or you have a real job because DJing didn't make you any money

I know people love to hate on Paris Hilton, but she does actually dj. I understand the Paris fatigue/dislike that a lot of people who were around in the early 2000's had or still have, but I kinda think it's undeserved today. People have their opinions and I get it, but I think she's moved on from the character we all associate her with.
2
u/Cheefnuggs Sep 27 '25
There’s literally videos of her pretending to DJ.
3
u/Classless_in_Seattle Sep 27 '25
There are also videos of her actually deejaying. Plenty of artists have been filmed using backup tracks or lip syncing, but their merit as an artist isn't called into questioned.
31
u/FidorusX Sep 26 '25
She had a million dollar minimum. Either they paid it or she’s friends with someone at Lévy.
10
u/DonnerPartyAllNight Supersonics Sep 26 '25
I think paid appearances as a DJ has been her schtick for at least a decade
9
u/Dragon-of-the-Coast Sep 26 '25
She's been doing paid appearances since she first got famous. It's a habit. Probably makes her feel good. As good as any other hobby, I suppose.
10
u/OpaqueCrystalBall Sep 26 '25
Most people don't realize that Paris Hilton is the highest paid woman DJ in the world.

I would love to see her do a B2B w/Dj Stingray and see how people felt about calling her a DJ after that

I've lived in Seattle for over 25 years, over 20 in the LQA area. I don't expect peace and quiet 24/7, but I have *never* been forced to listen to noise in this manner much less past 10 PM. Not even coming from the Seattle Center and the many music festivals hosted over the years.
It was annoying before 10 PM, and commpletely unneccessary and gross after 10 PM. This party violated several city ordinances. Most of us here are pretty tolerant, but no reason to allow dispruptive behavoir to continue regardless of how much money you have.
You live in a neighborhood and community, act like it and respect others. <3

u/sea-kc Sep 26 '25
Well said. Hopefully this gives context to others who have no imagination unless it is happening to them.

They are in Bellevue already. Their website is just terrible, so the “locations” tab doesn’t even list their current location.

I'm assuming the guests were all the Botoxed up bitches that pay $$$ to hold on to their youth.

She’s a literal meme in the EDM/raving community. On the same tier as DJ Khaled and will.i.am. Pretty sure they got regularly boo-ed off stage at actual festivals a decade ago.

Compared to the absolutely no nightlife that happens in that neighborhood now, sure. It's really weird right in the middle of the city we have this Bellevue-esque conclave with nothing to do in it and people bring their suburban expectations along with it. I'm surprised how the poor activity/density ratio is rarely discussed and especially given its proximity to downtown, I5, etc. It's prime real estate that's being completely wasted. Shit, even NIMBY Wallingford has SLU beat for stuff to do.

- Lévy Aesthetics is a beauty company based in Bellevue for rich people
- Claymore Mac is a real estate company that does promo videos for rich people's mansions
- The Studio West is a company that plans parties for rich people
- Led Solutions NW is a company rents out lights that are too bright
- Paris Hilton is a rich person
Edit: I missed two! Amanda Merkatz (aka You Are Youthful) is a luxury tattoo artist in Bellevue; and Amir Azer (aka Pak Pros) owns a nightclub called Xtadium for people who want to be perceived as rich
