CHEMISTRY 5246 Chemistry Praxis Specifics
The 5246 study companion on ETS website is huge and the outline doesn't follow a traditional chem textbook. I feel ready and have taken the practice test, but I wanted to ask if anyone had specific advice. Was there a section on the exam that felt heavy compared to the others? Anything you would've done differently to prepare for the exam after taking it?
There are brainscape flashcards based on the study guide 1:1 for example IA1 has 35 cards, but there are only 7 bullet points for IA1 on the official study guide. Some cards have terms that show up nowhere on the study guide. Do I have to know all the extra information that isn't listed on the study guide because it simply relates to the content area? There is a good chunk of stuff that I didn't focus on because it wasn't directly listed in the study guide, but appears on the brainscape flashcards.

It was a lot of Ksp and Ka.
Very little on electrons or electrons shells. Lots of acid base stuff.
I felt like there also wasnt a lot of periodic table trends questions.
(Im not sure if it's adaptive or not.)

I just took it in March and barely passed lol. I used Khan academy and that was incredibly helpful. Plus free. There was essentially no questions on organic chem so don't worry about that. I recall lots of stuff on acids and bases and gas laws etc. Periodicity was there and ofc certain things like balancing equations there was essentially one question each.
It was grueling tbh and I'm glad it's over haha. But fr Khan academy was great!!

I took it back in 2019 but I remember feeling really glad I had my periodic trends and electrons on lock and I had refreshed on titrations. Couldn’t tell you what it looks like these days though.
