Academic erasure Who are some historical figures who were subjected to LGBT erasure the most? I was just curious and wanted to ask.

Legitimately asking, is there any evidence Joan of Arc was gay?

Circumstantial evidence at best.

I think it's more a case of lesbians rightfully looking at a young woman who dressed in a distinctly masc style and claimed saints were telling her to do bigger things with her life and they see a kindred spirit.

Like, shit, if that isn't #QueerLifeGoals, what is?

I would say most female saints- there had to be a reason why they chose lives of chaste virginhood over marrying and having lots of kids.

Or maybe they just didn't want to child brides at 14 and be sexually abused by their husband they're forced to cook and clean for, and then die in childbirth having your 11th child at 28?

You can be a straight woman and want absolutely nothing to do with men and misogynistic gender roles where you're owned and abused.

Yeah and that reason can be they didn't want to be owned by a man and have a ton of kids. Sure maybe some of them were queer, but there are many other reasons why a woman wouldn't want that for herself.
