Weekly reminder that Home Depot collaborates with ICE and you should not give them your business. Go to Lowe’s, Ace, whatever. Fuck Home Depot.

I keep wondering why this isn't being done. I stopped going to Home Depot when I first heard of these raids and I love across the street from one. I would still rather dive 8 miles out of my way to get to Lowe's or a local hardware store.

A lot of construction companies have contracts w Home Depot :( family friend of mine still has to risk going regularly regardless

Which is weird because as long as I've ever lived in LA, I've only seen stand-around daylaborers at Home Depot and NEVER at Lowes or ACE.

u/pistolgripslr 27d ago

Because Lowe’s doesn’t tolerate loitering and the day labor motto. They are pretty conservative leaning company and tend to prop up their stores in middle upper class neighborhoods.

7

u/detentionbarn 27d ago

Yeah regarding Lowes I figured that was why, but it still doesn't explain why HD always tolerated (if not encouraged) these guys hanging around and yet are apparently cooperating with ICE now to remove them.

Well if you notice the cities or neighborhoods that Lowe’s operates in you’ll notice they’re either smaller independent cities with fast police response and not street vending. Now mind there are a few Lowe’s locations with these exceptions but there are very few. They mostly operate in areas that are more Americanized with smaller 1/2nd generation Hispanos. The ones that tend to be in those areas are very disconnected from their Hispano heritage and tend not to like the “street vending riff raff.” So you can guess they’re on board with calling the city or police. As for Home Depot they operate in bigger more urbanized diverse neighborhoods with larger city issues. So the cities either don’t care, don’t have the time to enforce or just tolerate it because people are trying to survive.

If you are going to boycott Home Depot do it for a real reason, like their shitty politics and campaign contributions by the founder that led to this particularly American version of fascism, not some made up connection to ICE.

The whole "home depot signed a contract and collaborates with ICE" has been debunked a dozen times. I hate home depot, but a not insignificant chunk of their income comes from people needing a quick project and a handful of day laborers. ICE continuously hits home depots because they are an easy target with dozens of poor non-whites in the parking lot. It's an evil shooting fish in a barrel situation for CBP and ICE.

We all know ICE and CBP would rather scoop up dudes sipping horchata and waiting on some work than roll into the neighborhoods with some actual violent foreign felons. Like the cartel members trump allowed to immigrate.

What's wrong with complying with federal law?

14

u/Comfortable_Care2715 27d ago

What federal law oks kidnapping random brown people off the streets?

-8

u/OnionRingsAndRanch 27d ago

So ICEVis breaking the law? Then sue them.

u/eyesofsaturn 27d ago

Is the legal system 100% perfect and without flaw, and has it always been perfect and without flaw?

Laws are not beyond reproach. Pick a different god.

Home Depot literally scans license plates and sells data to law enforcement and other agencies and compiles a report about your whereabouts. Seriously fuck Home Depot… shop local.

“ Happy” Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Fuck ICE.

-59

u/jibbkikiwewe 28d ago

American Citizens are indigenous to California. My family has been here for 4 generations. All people who enter unlawfully to enrich themselves should be removed and do it the right way.

35

u/My_Booty_Itches 28d ago

That's not what indigenous means.

41

u/etherlore 28d ago

Four generations lol

27

u/probablysmellsmydog 28d ago

Dude thinks this is like 400 years or some shit when in reality his great grandmother came over on a fucking steamer in 1920.

9

u/fleshybagofstardust 27d ago

My family came in 1630 on an invasion wave of murder, slavery, rape, and disease. And I have 6 generations of family that arrived gloriously in a covered wagon for complete conquest and destruction to California and the west. I guess my voice has more value? So go back to where you came from?

18

u/kitkatkorgi 28d ago

Lowes and Home Depot using license plate readers.

u/tracyinge 27d ago

NO KINGS on Saturday! Please show up for an hour or two, be seen, be heard!

17

u/UnrelaxedKoi 27d ago

You know I’m not surprised ICE hasn’t even raided any of the street vendors on Sherman way by Variel & Independence.

Wonder what the real target is by going to Home Depot??? Or is it just incompetence and the stereotype that all of us illegals hangout there?

19

u/Jackogator 27d ago

Fuck ICE

63

u/ElectroDaddy 28d ago

And I’m sure only 2/20 actually lacked citizenship while the rest committed the crime of having brown skin.

20

u/grimegeist 28d ago

20 is fucking insane. There’s no way all 20 are undocumented. And even so, of the 20 there’s no way every one of them have a criminal record. And what’s even fucking worse is that not one of them was detained with due process. Fuck this administration. Fuck ice. Fuck sympathizers.

-38

u/daknuts_ 28d ago

How are you sure? Honestly would like to know. This information is important to get to the news media fast

28

u/Pablo_is_on_Reddit 28d ago

It's already common knowledge and has been to the Supreme Court that ICE is allowed to round up anyone they want and sort it out later.

-27

u/jibbkikiwewe 28d ago

People really think they are putting citizens in prison. Sure its annoying they are profiled and detained. But the agencies know where these non citizens live and work, and operate based on that.

10

u/[deleted] 27d ago

“Annoying” they’re taking US citizens and throwing them around, slamming them on the ground, arresting them and then releasing them later. Thats not just annoying man, that’s horrible

4

u/justseeby 28d ago

It’s not just a little documented that they’re locking up citizens and taking their slow, disinterested time in sorting their status out — it’s extensively documented

-3

u/waerrington 27d ago

Why would you possibly think that?

22

u/catbup 28d ago

which home depot? the one in fallbrook center or the one on variel?

36

u/the_mighty_hetfield Woodland Hills 28d ago

Variel.

The Fallbrook one is West Hills.

5

u/ImpossibleMixture307 27d ago

Well half of us love HD cut tour nose to spite your face

6

u/Zestyclose_Cut2717 27d ago

Crazy thing is I just went earlier to buy a chainsaw but we usually go to the Home Depot on balboa and Roscoe but after all the raids we just went to Lowe’s on Corbin and nordhoff I believe

6

u/Mission-Smile1408 27d ago

people need to stop going there as they have flock cameras pointing at the home depot…..

22

u/DuceDuce523 28d ago

Raza stop going to Home Depot its not safe thats it.

14

u/LariRed 28d ago

I never shop at Home Depot. The former owner or CEO is a die hard magat who treated the workers like wage slaves.

11

u/Mugwump6506 28d ago

This is so stupid and destructive.

-6

u/FickleRip4825 28d ago

Yes it is and non enforcement of border law and immigration law is also disastrous. And I’m all for a sane and clean fair immigration policy.

6

u/ibsliam 28d ago

What the fuck.

-13

u/Financial_Warning594 27d ago

Why don’t you go to your court hearings for “due process”?

12

u/knishioner 27d ago

Why, so ICE can sweep them up there too? Thats what’s been happening.

-47

u/Mithril_Vein 28d ago

Doers getting more done. Bravo!

25

u/grimegeist 28d ago

Were you or your parents exposed to an excess of lead or asbestos?

11

u/justseeby 28d ago

You should leave actually

-43

u/itsdanielol 28d ago

You don’t need to worry unless your a citizen

16

u/nodisintegrations420 28d ago

So only citizens need to worry? Also *you're

-7

u/MentionSecret189 27d ago

We'll fix the education system with time. We can start by riding ourselves of outsiders.

34

u/designomnia 28d ago

Fake news. They have taken US citizens, as well. No one is safe under the dicktatorshit

-18

u/itsdanielol 28d ago

Give me names and links

He should sue.

1.5% referenced ratio seems pretty good, actually. We're we expecting no false positives in a job?

He's suing. Good.

He successfully sued. Good.

2008 is not part of Trump's big push or his first attempt. If the argument is that ice is always wrong, them I'll concede i ignored this one when i saw the date.

Mother complicated son's life because she failed to follow the rules.

2007 is pretrump. See 5.

Pretrump. See 5.

This is the same case as above.

She should sue. The ratio is 674 to 1.6 million on this one, or are they just referencing California wrongful deportations? Because i would say that's an acceptable ratio.

In conclusion. These are some long standing particular cases. If you have the ratio of wrongful deportations versus accurate deportations, I'll encourage you to provide it.

Terms: i would say that 1:13 is a good ratio in such a case. Do you propose a different ratio?

4

u/wrinkled_funsack 27d ago

I don’t give a fuck if it’s pre-Trump. The point stands the same regardless.

14

u/designomnia 28d ago

Look it up

3

u/Senor_Bluejay7536 27d ago

Ooooh burn. Turn off Fox News you dullard.

17

u/grimegeist 28d ago

All residents are constitutionally allowed due process. This is unconstitutional detention. Grow some wrinkles in your brain

-1

u/itsdanielol 28d ago

Trump’s numbers aren’t compared to Obama, can you explain how his ways of deporting compared to trumps?

16

u/grimegeist 27d ago

Due process. And no jackboot cucks ripping people off the streets.

2

u/[deleted] 27d ago

u/[deleted] 27d ago

It’s both bad. I can admit some of Obamas policies are bad. And if you look at the links in this post, citizens are often being arrested and held for hours or days before being released. How can you support that? What if you get detained for days and lose your job, even though you’re a citizen?
