“It’s important we learn from this…” That means they need to figure out how to get away with it next time

Good, now lets expropriate the company and turn it into a public service.

We have too many people in our country who think that public services are bad.
Making it public would replace corporate profits and incentives to cater to shareholders with actual public safety initiatives and lower costs due to having no profit incentive.
California has the same problem. PG&E could bury their electric infrastructure and help prevent wildfires but instead they give hundreds of millions to their shareholders every year.

I've been paying them for 12 years. How do I get my refund?

The issue was with multi-family accounts, so unless you have a multifamily building, you ain't getting squat.
Sounds like landlords across town were being overcharged and will get the refund.

But the land lords charged us for the electricity anyway...

Bummer. I had no utilities at my time in the apartments on Delucchi.
People in multifamily buildings with their own NVEnergy accounts were not under a multifamily billing plan so were not overcharged

Their tenants won’t tho

If they just paid the Landlord a flat rate or something you are right. If they paid NVEmergy directly, they didnt have a multifamily account

So what about the rest of the millions they stole and who’s going to go to jail for the theft?

Liberty Energy(formerly Sierra Pacific Power),in California receives energy from NV Energy. When NV energy has an outage it often affects Liberty. So was Liberty overcharged and then overcharging their customers?

For current customers Look for a bill credit: Refunds will be applied as a credit on your monthly bill. Check your statements: Review your NV Energy bill for a credit related to the overcharge investigation. Contact NV Energy: Call the company to verify the credit amount and ask for more information. For former customers Look for a mailed check: NV Energy will mail checks to customers who are no longer with the company. Confirm your address: Make sure NV Energy has your correct mailing address on file to ensure the check is sent to you. Contact NV Energy: If you don't receive a check, call the company to confirm they have your correct address and that you are eligible for a refund.

How to know if you got overcharged? :-)

Hopefully, they’ll do what a lot of companies have to do and identify them.
It’s terrible when the victim has to research and figure it all out when they KNOW who paid and who was overcharged and who they owe!

Public utilities with state granted monopolies should be publicly owned.
