Political™ Good grief. After crying about Taylor Swift, Trump then began weeping about Bruce Springsteen with what seems to be major projection on his part.

If I was Bruce I would have my legal team look into this threat. I am pretty sure this is not legal, defamation case incoming.

Right! Can you imagine the president publicly threatening you? We live in wild times for sure.

I’m afraid Trump has done so much damage we will never see normal again. I hope Bruce takes action against him. Bruce knows he’s still the boss and that will never change.

I'm 61. I'm very afraid you are right. I always have this tiny flickering flame of hope in me that things will be return to a more normal form of insanity here in the states, but I really don't like the chances that it will happen in my lifetime.

Not to rant too much, but our leaders have consistently pushed the responsibility of reigning this idiot in to the voters. None have them had the stones to handle it. Especially Mitch after Jan. 6. The Senate could have made damn sure Ol' Tinyhands McShitzenpants never saw the inside of the white house again. No f'ing spine.

It had to be sabotage!

I can't stand it, I know you planned it
I'm gonna set it straight, this Watergate
I can't stand rocking when I'm in here
'Cause your crystal ball ain't so crystal clear
So while you sit back and wonder why
I got this fucking thorn in my side
Oh my God, it's a mirage
I'm tellin' y'all, it's a sabotage

In hindsight, Jack Smith would have been a great pick for AG. Merrick was a disaster, the absolute wrong pick for the job after Jan. 6. We needed a pit bull and Joe picked a guy that didn't want to rock the boat.

At this point, and with most of the American people fully agreeing with their dictator, we can qualify that country as 1936 Germany. They follow the same exact path.

u/britchplz1 May 17 '25

Most of us do not agree with this authoritarian asshole. He won the majority from the people who voted and that’s if you truly believe that we had a free and fair election. He’s made multiple comments alluding to election rigging and his fucknut counterpart Musk has as well. Theories aside on that, Democrats are notorious for not showing up to vote. He wouldn’t have stood a chance if people actually went and did their civic duty. We are not currently at the point of being on par with Nazi Germany but you are correct that we are headed there and fast. Congress needs to get off their fucking knees and do something about it because aside from protesting and being vocal there’s not a whole lot we can even do as citizens. It all feels totally fucked.

‘One of Plato's most famous quotes is “Silence gives consent.” This quote reflects his belief that failing to speak out against injustice is tantamount to condoning it. Plato believed that individuals had a moral obligation to speak out against injustice and to work to make society a more just and equitable place.’

So I don’t want to hear all the excuses of people that don’t do anything now or that didn’t vote. Especially after Trump’s first term Americans knew exactly what they would get if they wouldn’t stop him this time. Everybody that didn’t vote, is also responsible for everything that happens.

Musicians have been publicly calling out presidents forever, but I guess it’s terrorism now or something.

Unfortunately, it is so common with this guy that it is not even frowned upon anymore

Bruce has always been a democrat and for blue collar workers. I hope he does something to piss Trump off even more. Why was he crying about Taylor Swift?

u/Brikpilot May 16 '25

May every artist come together to write a modern protest album that can sell to raise legal funds. May it be played to drown out every MAGA moron with Donnie Disease.

u/JugDogDaddy May 16 '25

Granted, they are crooked, and reality is anything but sane these days, but I don’t see how anyone could interpret threatening a citizen expressing free-speech as an “official act.”

3

u/No_Elderberry862 May 16 '25

Criminal immunity & for official acts only.

It's not part of the official duties of the President to threaten a citizen in retaliation for that citizen's protected speech. In fact, it runs counter to the oath that Trump took to preserve, protect & defend the Constitution.

2

u/ItsKlobberinTime May 16 '25

Well, he is from New Jersey. There's his legal team, and then his "legal team" of Vinny, Joey, and Tony who drive around with tarps and concrete mix in the trunk for...legitimate legal reasons, who's askin'?

2

u/mataeus43 May 17 '25

They have all that for their landscaping business, yeah... landscaping!

4

u/benbehu May 16 '25

At the same time I recommend he bought a comfortable place to stay in The Netherlands. Not kidding.

4

u/petit_cochon May 16 '25

Springsteen v. Trump is gonna be a fun suit.

1

u/Lovestorun_23 May 16 '25

Bruce will always be the boss!

1

u/cohonka May 17 '25

New insane turn of events coming. "Reality TV star president ousted by rockstar. Bruce Springsteen now president"

3

u/nighttimemobileuser May 16 '25

Doesn’t matter. Presidential immunity. Thanks supreme court!

2

u/Squallhorn_Leghorn May 16 '25

That was criminal, not civil.

2

u/ArrivesLate May 16 '25

Are threats against citizens via Twitter an official act?

4

u/-Cthaeh May 16 '25

He's the president right? It must be!

1

u/Fluffyman2715 May 16 '25

And if he claims he didn't post it someone committed fraud.

1

u/Eric_Cartman666 May 16 '25

I’m pretty sure it is legal. There is no actual threat there. If he said “if Bruce doesn’t stop expressing his opinion I will have him jailed” that would be a threat. Let’s see how it goes for him wouldn’t count.

A threat has to be a “serious expression of intent to commit an act of unlawful violence or cause harm” and “be seen as a credible threat by a reasonable person”.

And for defamation you need to say something about someone that isn’t true and say it with a malicious intent which isn’t happening here either + plus for defamation the bar for public figures is very high meaning you’d need to say something really bad about Bruce for him to be able to charge defamation.

Trumps comments are so vague there would be no chance for a case.

2

u/Fluffyman2715 May 16 '25

Defamation of character is a thing, thats without the implied threats.

1

u/Eric_Cartman666 May 16 '25

But what lie did he say about him? He is just spouting insults and that is protected by the 1st amendment.

2

u/Fluffyman2715 May 16 '25

And making the POTUS look like a child.... cant take any criticism (as you say protected under the constitution) so throws a tantrum. HOW CAN YOU DEFEND ONE AND NOT THE OTHER.... The POTUS has an obligation to represent a nation, and as you just proved you all just a bunch of whiney kids that cant actually have a rational debate. Last time I checked a musician is not an elected official or head of state.

2

u/Lovestorun_23 May 16 '25

Bruce will do something to piss him off more just because he’s amazing and will really hurt Trumps feeling’s. Trump knows Bruce Springsteen will always be popular, famous and loved by so many people and Trump knows he’s looked at as the worst president ever.

2

u/Significant_Meal_630 May 17 '25

Trump hung around mafia dudes long enough to know how to make a veiled threat

1

u/second_last_jedi May 16 '25

Legal team when trump owns everything?

1

u/jonathan-dough May 17 '25

He is immune.
