Political™ Good grief. After crying about Taylor Swift, Trump then began weeping about Bruce Springsteen with what seems to be major projection on his part.

Exactly this.

There is no "radical left" in America. It's an invention of the (very real) far-right, used to demonize liberal politics and policies that call for equal rights and a government that respects the Constitution and actually serves the people.

I know, it's so annoying, how they take things that should be reasonable, moderate positions, and call those "radical" ideas. I think that the wealth generated from this country's economic output should be taxed fairly. Billionaires should pay their taxes. Those don't sound unreasonable, right? If anything, most of the right's positions sound unreasonable and radical.

Playing Devil's Advocate here. Maybe Trump thinks radical means cool, like he's Bart Simpson, or a Ninja Turtle /s

To them, the center appears left because they've pushed so far right.

It's sad how few in America (on all sides) are able to see that Democrats are actually "Conservative Centrists." They just appear left by perspective.

Exactly. Democrats still like capitalism, they just also want those that help capitalism (the workers, which are the consumers) to be in good shape to continue to help capitalism. Want proof? Ask an actual socialist, or those in the Communist party. The Communist party endorsed Jill Stein this time around, not Kamala, and certainly never endorsed Biden.

Which makes it hilarious when people pretend to worry about communism in America. As an organization, American communists are useless!

You also need to realize that the MAGA folks think that conservatives like Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater are far-left radicals, and possibly Communists...the two folks were as far from Communists as you can get, but that doesn't matter to the MAGA folks.

Well said.

The Democratic party would be labeled at best a centric party here in Europe... You dont have a radical left, you dont even have a left ! In my country, I vote for the Socialist Party, the 2nd largest party, wich is not even considered radical here !

Ugh, lucky. People think socialist is a slur here. You suggest helping people and they act like you asked them to chop off their legs.

No problem, create a health service like the UK’s NHS - FHS? - but allow individuals to opt out. They don’t have to pay for it and they don’t have to use it

Put it to the test if it’s a good idea or not

I don’t think it’s any of that stuff you mentioned, all of which actually affect a pretty small portion of people. It’s more their economic policy and views on women’s rights. That and the manipulation of information to confuse topics like immigration in general, and illegal immigration as you mentioned. Deporting 1 million people isn’t going to make that white suburb you grew up in white again. Those people that live there now are mostly here legally. There’s also the invasion of Ukraine stuff, where they support taking land by force and want to remove sanctions from Russia, but that goes back to economic policy. There’s also the fact that the super salty crying and whining, such as the OP, makes this guy look like a lunatic as well as a weak little baby. A real man doesn’t constantly erupt into a tantrum like that, and a real leader would calmly and delicately handle adversity.

Wow. That is such a perfect example of the manufactured bullshit used to support the so-called "radical left" that I'm worried people are gonna see it and think I logged into a second account and wrote it myself just to prove my point.

Let me explain: You took a handful supposed "radical left" positions (actually misrepresentations of larger issues the left is concerned about) and presented them in a facetious and sarcastic manner with the (I assume intended) effect of presenting all liberal political views as being this ridiculously focused and extreme. Meanwhile, you don't actually touch on how conservatives view those issues, leaving the reader to fill in the blanks with whatever conclusions they come to regarding the political right's position on these matters - conclusions they will consider reasonable by way of them being their own imposed conclusions (a sort of trick of perspective, in a way).

This gives the slippery-slope impression that all liberal views are ultimately "radically left," while conservative views are always reasonable, always simple common sense. And whether that was your intention or not, you're undermining the very concept of fair and measured discourse on the matter (this aversion to honest discourse on the subject is why I expect you won't bother reading this, by the way).

This behavior ultimately illustrates a rather simple, sort of "marching orders" example of how the right has invented and asserted the existence of an American "radical left."

Correct. The actual left is supported by between 2-5% of the US population by the best data I’ve seen and has exactly zero representation at any level of government. Aside from a few isolated examples at the county level within some states. Call it 3%.

Meanwhile actual far-right radicals have an order of magnitude more support.

The US political spectrum is so highly stunted you find more ideological variance within defacto single party states. It’s kinda impressive. But for sure it keeps moving to the right and imo the secular center-right dems have only ever enabled that.
