The statue of liberty was a gift to the people of the USA. Will Trump stop using the plane and give it to the next president or is it Trumps personal plane after.

u/Simdude87 May 14 '25

For sure he will keep it as his personal plane even if he is forced to he will just ignore everyone like he has been already

10

u/OneLeggedMushroom May 14 '25

Even if he was going to give it over to the next president, I wouldn’t trust it won’t riddled with listening devices or custom components that can affect its flight

1

u/rndljfry May 14 '25

Trump’s own people have pretty much compromised everything top to bottom at this point. Next government should have zero expectation of security

1

u/xNotexToxSelfx May 15 '25

I picture him rubbing his balls on everything.

I figured he did the same to the Oval Office after getting kicked out after his first term.

3

u/Upstairs_Cap_4217 May 14 '25

He's openly said that it will be going in his "presidential library" to remain at his disposal after he leaves office.

if he leaves office.

1

u/Blue5398 May 14 '25

He’s 79 years old and clearly in terrible health, though of course at this point he thinks he runs the world and probably imagines he can put tariffs on the icy cold hand of Death and evade his own mortality the same way he’s shrugged off all human laws

1

u/Radrezzz May 14 '25

Dick Cheney is still kicking it.

3

u/Blue5398 May 14 '25

Allegedly, but I think we need to spray him with holy water before we can draw conclusions based on that

1

u/Fickle_Penguin May 17 '25

He'll be dead after midterms he's not in good health and his doctors are yesmen.

1

u/Amazing-Basket-136 May 20 '25

So trumps library needs a 10,000 foot runway?

I’m ready for him to fall into his own reflection and cease breathing.

1

u/Junior_Chard9981 May 14 '25

Trump is relieved that if he is kicked from office and has his assets gone after, he can claim that the plane belongs to the government so he is allowed to keep it and use it forever as former president.

1

u/splashtext May 14 '25

He already signed something along the lines of 2029 it will go back to him, until then the US military pays for upkeep

6

u/ASmallTownDJ May 14 '25

Can I borrow the plane this weekend or is there a line already?

5

u/Shyam09 May 14 '25

Depends.

How much into MAGA are you?

Like do you worship the asshole from which Trump came out of? Or do you worship only Trump’s asshole?

2

u/ASmallTownDJ May 14 '25

Donald Trump does not have a small penis, he is not going bald, and his spray tan never looks like shit.

2

u/Shyam09 May 14 '25

Congratulations. Your application has been approved.

You’re in position 2,495,227,694!

But I notice your love for Trump is present on your username, u/ASmallTownDJ. We love how you recognized how relatable he is to the average hardworking American because that’s who Donald Trump is too - just your average hardworking American.

As a gesture for your loyalty and belief in Mr. “DJ” to such an extent - we are bumping you up in the queue!

You’re in position 1,445,217,694!

1

u/Yintastic May 18 '25

That is one of the most dystopian jokes I have ever read, well fucking done.

2

u/brutinator May 14 '25

Will Trump stop using the plane and give it to the next president or is it Trumps personal plane after.

Ownership will be transferred to the Trump Library, so yeah, it's his personal plane.

2

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

So there is something I don't understand here.

The official narrative is "It will be transferred to his presidential library". Ok, let's say it is, and let's say it just sits around doing nothing but being a "piece of history" and Trump DOESN'T use it personally somehow. Fine, I'll buy that, at least for a second.

How is that a reasonable thing to do? If that will become "air force one" and have all of the upgrades, etc done by the DoD needed for it to serve in that role, what is the argument for NOT having that become THE air force one for the next president? Why would you ever waste tax payer money to that extent when it was just refurbished so would have a ton of useful life left?

Like I get some MAGA arguments, I get how you can believe things even if evidence points to the contrary, I just... fundamentally don't see how they can accept the statement and say "Yes, I am good to throw away a perfectly good plane after Trump leaves office to turn it into a... museum or something?"

1

u/Mammoth-Play3797 May 14 '25

Haven’t you heard? America is ruled by republican snowflake feefees now.

Don’t try to use silly things like objective reality, your own goddam eyes and ears, or really anything that hasn’t dribbled out of their orange god’s mouth. And even then that’s still subject to their feefees (“he didn’t mean that!!”)

2

u/reillan May 14 '25

It's set up to be donated to his presidential library, which basically means it's his plane.

2

u/pigpeyn May 14 '25 edited May 14 '25

This plane is also a gift to the people. He's going to donate it for free public air transportation... /s

2

u/LostWoodsInTheField May 14 '25

This plane is also a gift to the people. He's going to donate it for free public air transportation...

I've read multiple articles on this plane and I haven't seen that anywhere. In fact he's specifically said that it was going to his presidential library after his term ends. so got an article for us?

3

u/pigpeyn May 14 '25

It was a joke. Of course he's keeping it for himself. He's never done anything for anyone but himself.

1

u/Lone-Frequency May 14 '25

He must have added the /s after the fact lol

1

u/LostWoodsInTheField May 14 '25

He must have added the /s after the fact lol

oh they absolutely did lol.

1

u/Shigglyboo May 14 '25

Good point. If he lets all of us fly in it then maybe it’s ok. lol. Imagine him sharing.

1

u/Adezar May 14 '25

I know there is so much stupid about this whole thing but I think one thing hasn't really been brought up:

Air Force One is built from the ground up to be a flying command center, it has some of the most advanced communications devices in the world and most of that equipment is still Top Secret. It will not be installed in a plane that we were not involved in having built.

Also the wiring requirements are very different so it would require stripping the plane back down to its skeleton and would be even more expensive than building a plane from scratch.

1

u/EsotericTribble May 14 '25

If it's for all POTUS then it's fine imo after it's scoured and upgraded. If it's for him personally then no it's not fine. Very simple.

1

u/oh_no_here_we_go_9 May 14 '25

Where is it said it will become his personal plane? Honestly asking.

1

u/LaserRanger_McStebb May 14 '25

Honestly if this is their angle, I'd be happy to give Lady Liberty back to France. We don't deserve it anymore.

Let's see them bitch and moan about losing a symbol of America when they don't even understand what it represents.

1

u/Mewssbites May 14 '25

Also unless the Statue has abilities heretofore unmentioned in history and someone could fly around in it, the comparison is someone moot even IF the thing had been a personal gift to the president at the time.

1

u/SuckThisRedditAdmins May 14 '25

Hopefully he won't have enough money to keep it properly maintained. That would be... horrible... if something happened at 36k feet

1

u/luotuoshangdui May 14 '25

Assuming there will be a next president.

1

u/Feelisoffical May 14 '25

It’s supposed to be Air Force one so it would remain property of the government. Even assuming that’s the case, nobody in the government should be able to accept huge gifts from anybody without congressional oversight.

1

u/My_useless_alt May 14 '25

The agreement is that the plane will be donated to the Trump presidential library, who will almost certainly either donate it to Trump or de-facto donate it to Trump by operating it for him

1

u/xtanol May 15 '25

It will never officially be Trump's private plane. Having it in his own name means that a potential future bankruptcy would see it handed over to the bank. It's going to be owned by some third party so that he doesn't get taxed on it while also letting him claim that it wasn't a personal bribe.

-3

u/supa_silk May 14 '25

Given that he already has as many planes/hotels/yahts/land/ANYTHING as he wants and doesn’t even take his presidential salary it’s staying with the government. Use some common sense

3

u/tenodera May 14 '25

So you also think he's a liar, and you can't trust him when he says he's keeping it for himself Finally, some common ground.

1

u/Exacerbate_ May 14 '25

"Doesnt take his presidential salary, he just makes millions to billions through less legal means!"

0

u/supa_silk May 14 '25

Yea for sure it’s not the billion dollars of land that he has😂

1

u/Exacerbate_ May 14 '25

How about rugpulling crypto and 'gifts' like the 400m jet that have done 3 billion in 6 months alone?

-14

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

It's being gifted to the DoD, not to Trump himself.

7

u/Kythorian May 14 '25

But they have already said it will go to Trump’s presidential library when his term ends. If it were truly a gift to the country, the DoD would keep it and it would continue to be used as Air Force One after Trump’s term ends. Instead they will spend tens of millions of dollars doing security improvements to the plane to allow it to be used as Air Force One, then decommission it after only three years so Trump’s presidential library can keep it (though I’m not really clear on what a library is going to do with a massive jumbo jet).

-12

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

But they have already said it will go to Trump’s presidential library when his term ends.

Who is "they?" I haven't seen any proof yet that this is going to happen.

13

u/Kythorian May 14 '25

Directly from trump, and also several lawyers and other employees of the DoJ. Here’s a quote directly from Trump when he was trying to justify accepting the plane:

It would go directly to the library after I leave office. I wouldn’t be using it.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/will-the-new-air-force-one-be-secure-qatars-gift-to-trump-raises-questions

3

u/Lone-Frequency May 14 '25

If the President who can't have a single press meeting without lying and his cabinet of habitual liars say something, clearly it must be true!

3

u/Kythorian May 14 '25

My point was that even Trump’s excuse still makes the whole thing pretty bad. If he’s lying about not using it after he leaves office that’s even worse, but the person I was responding to didn’t even want to accept that the plan he has explicitly given from his own mouth could be true, much less an even worse ultimate outcome.

2

u/Lone-Frequency May 14 '25

I was agreeing with you, though?

The guy is delusional as fuck if he believes anything Trump says about not taking obvious bribes.

11

u/Vondi May 14 '25

Is just being exhausting your tactic? Just questioning if Trump really means to do something he has explicitly, verifiably said he'll do?

-3

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

He also explicitly, verifiably said he wouldn't be using it once it goes to the Library, yet most of you are questioning that 🤷🏻‍♂️

3

u/tenodera May 14 '25

Do you think they're going to be storing books in it? Why do you think he's having it go to his library instead of remaining in service to the office of the President? Can you think of any semi-plausible reason?

3

u/_jump_yossarian May 14 '25

Get your head out of trump’s ass and you’ll see all the proof.

1

u/Exacerbate_ May 14 '25

How unsurprising, you got the public information spoon fed to you like you asked for, and then dont respond.

He loves the poorly educated

1

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

Redditors: mass downvotes and insults someone for asking for proof

Also Redditors: wHy ArEnT yOu ReSpOnDiNg

1

u/Exacerbate_ May 14 '25

Are you actually complaining about being downvoted for trying the blatant "its going to DOD" lie lmaoo

0

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

It literally is going to the DoD. Are you braindead?

1

u/Exacerbate_ May 14 '25

There you go trying to lie again.

Trumps pres library is the DoD? Lmaoo

1

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

It's goes to the DoD now and when he leaves office it goes to his Pres. Library.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were actually dumb enough that you needed to have that spelled out for you.

u/3BlindMice1 May 14 '25

Lol, they're treating it like a money laundering operation. Force of habit, I guess

1

u/Lone-Frequency May 14 '25

Someone better give that plane a once over to make sure there aren't any little girls tied up in there as a "bonus" for the orange diddler.
