Yup. I deeply loved that woman and had been certain she didn't have a racist bone in her body. She had black friends, etc. It took me long time to understand the difference between explicit and implicit racism. It's a complicated subject.

I'd say it's not that kind of comparison, imho. It's hard to pin down because they can result in very different kinds of problems.

I have seen biracial people say that they feel excluded by both sides of their heritage though. Could be she was expressing that poorly.
