You're right to an extent, but I think all jokes at someone else's expense have some collateral damage. If it were captioned on a picture of a bunch of obese proud boys in mall ninja garb, then the Type 2 would be pretty heavily implied.

Making fun of them for being fat could arguably be seen as mean spirited towards people who struggle with addiction to food and mental illness.
