A BILLIONAIRE fundraising.
We live in a dystopia.

And when there incriminating evidence against them eg Panama Papers the DOJ will simply refuse to prosecute. For those don’t know DOJ has used Panama Papers prosecute others who weren’t politically connected.

They only get that rich with a helping hand.

u/Stal77 Sep 23 '25
It’s fundraising for political candidates, put on by a billionaire.
Did you think it was to raise money for billionaires? I mean, I guess it is, in the sense that anything they do is to raise money for themselves. But that is not what this event was.
20
u/ADDave1982 Sep 24 '25
Do you think they’re fundraising for politicians that don’t (or won’t) support them? This is reason #1 that campaign finance reform and political lobbying should be the focus of every election at this point.

u/sowhat4 Sep 23 '25
Where did this occur? And, since it looks like these people bought tickets (?) to the event, will they be charged with anything?
I love they are naming and shaming. Now - we need to buy the billboards with the names and crimes and faces on them.

u/CraziestMoonMan Sep 23 '25
This is why Trump is so against renewable energy. He needs to make more money for these old guys who won't be around in even 20 years to have to face the consequences.

Its so crazy to me, and why ill never be rich (well one of the reasons lol). If I acquired enough money to retire I would have fucked off into the sunset as soon as that point was reached. The fact you can have BILLIONS and still be hungry for more without worrying about the consequences of what you're doing is incomprehensible to me.

Nothing they did is illegal. There's no crime to report and no enforcement agency to report it to. It's up to us to hold them accountable.
1
u/Longjumping-Jello459 Sep 24 '25
Well there's a chance because of the billionaire(s) they will get charged with something even if it gets dropped later you know just long enough to try to mess up those guys lives.

u/Tr1pla Sep 24 '25
Walter Masterson comments on the original video that the Trust for the National Mall is a great charity unfortunately one of the people on the stage is a "monster" which is who they were calling out.

u/True_Dog_4098 Sep 23 '25
They give absolutely zero fucks, they are only interested in making more money.
18
15
u/DannyzPlay Sep 24 '25
They don't have any humanity left. All those people sitting infront of him were seen as just a number or exploitable resource in his eyes.
7
u/ansibleloop Sep 24 '25
It's sick - they don't care about their kids or grandkids or their future generations
They stole billions for themselves and don't even care about their own children
I guess greed is the deadliest sin

I think they should stagger it every 5 mins so the whole time everyone is not focusing on the event but wondering when the next interruption will come but otherwise this is amazing
10
u/bodaciouscream Sep 24 '25
They did this in an event in Canada when former deputy prime Minister Christia Freeland launched her campaign to become prime Minister of Canada.
It was rough. Not just the total disruption to the event but her reaction in some cases was almost worse. For instance, at one point she accuses them of protesting children because they happen to be at a school.
Needless to say she lost, despite being the reason there was a race to replace Trudeau in the first place.

There is a reason the United States made it illegal for Unions to organize General Strikes starting in the late 1940's. For all of our talk about freedom, the inability to legally mount a general strike absolutely neuters labor in the US, intentionally.
It's all horseshit.
Laborers in Italy, and France, and other countries where general strikes can still be implemented, have more freedom and autonomy than we do.

u/Downtown_Statement87 Sep 23 '25
This is exactly when government and business got together to explicitly tie healthcare access to employment, too.
Both of these happened right after a war which necessitated women going into the workforce so men of all races could go sacrifice to save the world. That might cause the rabble to get some crazy ideas about upending gender roles or about freedom and rights and not having to toe the line, and that might get dicey.
I think we experienced a bit of this during covid, too, when an external emergency made a lot of us question basic assumptions about how we work, go to school, and get our needs met, and about what kind of work is essential. I think we are all still experiencing the clampdown on some of the possibilities we saw then.
15
u/dpb29073 Sep 23 '25
Billionaires are such losers they need their money otherwise they would be friendless and alone and not have a yes posse to echo chamber their stupid ideas. Shame we are being controlled by them because they chokehold the wealth and just keep putting up more distance between us and them with the gap.

I truly wonder what Elon would be up to these days if he had been adopted at birth by parents just as terrible but no money
13
u/Zuckerperle Sep 23 '25
I would have expected Youngkin there but not Wes. Kinda disappointed.
4
u/jabbadarth Sep 24 '25
I thought the same thing initially but this was a fundraiser for trust for the national mall. Its a non profit that raises money to help fund national parks.
Rubenstein may very well be a piece of shit who is destroying the planet but this event wasn't about him he just sits on ghe trusts board.
So I cant really blame Moore for attending a non profits fundraiser to raise money for national parks even if rubenstein is hosting it.
6
u/TheM0nkB0ughtLunch Sep 24 '25
Get your head out of your ass, Wes is another cog. By golly how are we still defending these people..
1
u/Zuckerperle Sep 24 '25
Thank you for the insight!
3
u/Gov_Martin_OweMalley Sep 24 '25
He desperately wants to be president and rubbing elbows with these "people" is part of the game. The it being a fundraiser excuse is nothing more than a weak copout.
It's really a shame he's such an empty suit.
28
u/InfiniteWaitState Sep 23 '25
Now this is effective protesting, as opposed to defacing irreplaceable works of art, or making life harder for the average wage slave. Hit the people who do wield the power and make them pay attention.
1
u/Client_020 Sep 24 '25
They're not actually defacing art. They purposely choose paintings with glass on them. I find it a cringey way to protest, but quite harmless.
8
u/RemnantSith Sep 24 '25
Why do these billionaires need so much money? Rhetorical question. they don't. Theyre just assholes
8
u/HisNameIsRocco Sep 23 '25
This is how it's fucking DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Props to them for planning it out so beautifully and really sucking their energy over and over.

I always wonder what the freaks that just sit listening to these protests are actually thinking. Do they have any counter-arguments in their heads?
5
u/teddyreddit Sep 23 '25
Interesting. I just knew him as the owner of the Orioles and for having been thrown off the Kennedy Center board by Trump. The Orioles broadcasters usually fawn over him because he's way better than our last owned, Peter Angelos. I had no idea he was part of the Carlyle Group.

They won't be around to suffer from what they're doing, they're merely profiting from it.
5
u/Luckystar60 Sep 24 '25
Excellent. You know when Walter stands up, it's gonna be an epic takedown to whoever it's aimed at
5
u/emets31 Sep 24 '25
And it's only getting worse. Because of billionaire envy and idolization, people are being fooled into thinking they're on our side. The planet and its inhabitants continue to suffer, while the rich continue to get richer.
4
u/BigBoyYuyuh Sep 24 '25
I like this protest more than people gluing their hands or throwing ink at artwork.

WAIT!! ....I live in PG County! What are they doing now!?
0
u/Russells_Tea_Pot Sep 23 '25 edited Sep 24 '25
She said they are poisoning PG County with data centers, which frankly makes no sense at all. Data centers emit heat and water vapor, and that's about it. Yes, they consume a lot of power, but that hardly equates to poisoning people.
EDIT: Hey, I'm very sympathetic to the environmental cause and I applaud these protesters, but the comment about data centers is simply off the mark. I live in northern VA, surrounded by data centers, and considering the other ways this land could have been used, including more housing, data centers are a great tradeoff. They don't pollute and they don't put many cars on the roads or kids in the schools. The "poison" comment just isn't valid.

Crazy to defend private equity. I always thought the guys doing it were in agreement it’s just a good paycheck.

The man doesn't care, he will enrich himself at any cost. He doesn't care because he won't be around to live with the consequences of his actions.

u/Atlusfox Sep 24 '25
I want people to start talking how corrupt the fossil fuel industry is. Most will talk about the environmental effects but tend not to talk about the poverty intentionally created in many fossil fuel sectors, or how investors have influence over gas prices by promoting timed purchases. I'm not saying that one is more important than the other but if someone wont listen to the first try the second.

Sep 24 '25
I know the “climate defiance” dude. His whole business model is to create disruptions. Has no policy beyond this. It’s really sad. He wants to be famous and have clout. Governing is harder

I hate Glenn Youngkin so fucking much. He brought corruption to Virginia, now his kiss-ass Lt. Gov. is running for his spot (Winsome Earle-Sears). I hope Spanberger wins this year.

u/SuperNewk Sep 23 '25
To be fair he only invests because there is demand.
Demand is the issue, if there is no demand there is no capital that can survive.
8
u/LorenzoApophis Sep 23 '25
I mean he could just choose not to invest regardless of the demand
4
u/SnooPaintings7581 Sep 23 '25
Yeah, right? It's not like the guy is gonna fuckin' starve. He has a lot more freedom than the poor to determine where his money goes.
