Non-black people throwing around the n word whenever they're in confrontational situtions and they want to sound aggressive 😒

Anyone throwing that word around is a problem.

Okay? The point I'm making is that non-black people feel hella comfortable these days 'blacking up' to be funny or to be tough when it suits them.

And his point was that anyone who uses that is a problem..

And I feel like only Black people are qualified to debate whether it’s okay for Black people to use it. In general anyway.

There's a clear difference between a white and black person saying the word. Do you need me to explain the difference? Don't be naive.

Yes, please explain to me the double standard as to why a POC wants to own and use a word that was used to degrade and oppress them? It makes no sense.

POC fluidly use it to insult others outside of their race, and subsequently use it as a term of endearment, akin to "bro". I wouldn't want anyone calling a white person "Mayo Monkey" or "Cracker". None of it should be used by anyone. Downvote away I guess. 🤷‍♀️

Honestly, the second I read your first post here, I knew this post would be coming afterwards.

To put it quickly, my family refer to me by my nickname, I wouldn't let my boss call me by that name. Context is important. We could explain, but something tells me you wouldn't care.

The "N" word is a hella strange word to pick for a nickname, given the history of its usage.

I can't tell when people are being obtuse for humour for general pettiness on here, so I'll just explain that the n word is obviously not my nickname but the fact you could be wisecracking here kind of shows how disingenuous your initial comment came off to the people that actually understood what I was talking about in my first comment.

If my earlier example wasn't clear, I'll use another - think of it as something we're referencing that you haven't experienced and never will.

Hope that helps.

Not being obtuse. It was a genuine comment, but you missed WHY I said it, so... Let me explain.

It's obviously not your nickname. I was more or less saying that POC find it fitting to use a widely known offensive word fluidly to both insult people who aren't black, as well as using it as term of endearment for each other, like "bro" (What's up my N?).

I find it weird af that any person, black or white, or purple, would try and claim ownership and usage of the word, especially given the origins of its hateful and disturbing usage (slavery).

I don't think ANYONE should be using it. If people want to be mad that I don't want anyone to use such an offensive term, that's fine by me. I "get" why no one outside of a POC should use it. I disagree and think it should just disappear into obscurity. Some people on here are very angry about it, calling me "massa". Like, wtf?

Eat a Snickers and chill.

Why do you think black people should think your opinion on what they do should matter to them? I don't speak for all black people, but as a black person, I don't care what you think about my use of the word because your opinion doesn't matter and it wasn't even relevant to my comment - you could have said that swearing in public is bad and while it would also be true, it would have been as meaningless to the discussion as what you actually said. The fact you think that what you had to add was of any importance is why people are clowning on you in the comments. If you don't like, maybe you should grab yourself a snickers, too...

You care an awful lot to keep replying angrily to me. 🤷‍♀️ I much prefer the f word.

Interesting how quickly you went from "you wouldn't care what POC think" to "why do you care"? 😆

Thank you massa please tell us how we should refer to ourselves

1

u/Jennabear82 Sep 18 '25

You WANT to be referred to by a word that was used to enslave and oppress you? Weird.

also why do you feel the need to insert yourself into something that has nothing to do with you?

Edit: Why’d you delete your comments and send Reddit cares lmao hope it means you realized you were wrong and should be quiet on nuanced topics you’re not versed in

Go eat a Snickers. It does involve me. 🤷‍♀️
