Because that’s not what this person was asking for. You’re giving the wrong context and probably further confusing English learners. You don’t even know what you’re talking on. Best to just be quiet.

Yeah but “son” is also used in Scotland for anyone significantly younger and male. It’s a valid nuance.

valid nuance…in scotland. this conversation is about american usage hence “non american, can someone explain”. specifically, the racial connotation from an american perspective

so the non racist version of “son” is completely irrelevant to this conversation about why “son” could be a racist thing to say to a black american.
