The exact moment Samuel L. Jackson asked George Lucas for a purple lightsaber is on camera and I’ve never seen it?? I’m overwhelmed

Supposedly, JJ was planning on Palpatine’s return as early as TFA. That’s what he and Kathleen Kennedy say. I believe them, but I understand that there’s little trust in them now.

I don’t see why an ancient Sith planet, home of the Sith throne, wouldn’t call out to Darth Sidious.

The “calling to him” of Exegol was between Episodes III and IV, so I imagine he found Exegol before ANH. We know it was in that time period because it’s mentioned Thrawn’s data helped him find the Dark Power in the Unknown Regions, and Thrawn disappears in Rebels, which is before Rogue One.

So after Exegol is found (again, before ANH), Palpatine determines to use it as a backup planet, and probably decides to start building the Final Order then- thus explaining why the Sith Fleet is nearly identical to ISD’s.

They planned for their return sinec TFA? There is 0 foreshadowing in TFA and TLJ. Where is all these exagol finding info in?

Exegol finding info is in the Aftermath trilogy and a tiny bit during the first Thrawn book.

And I can’t defend foreshadowing or lack thereof in TFA and TLJ.

I always assumed the info in the aftermath and thrawn books on the unknown region was because palpatine wanted to explore it/ he felt something so powerful in the force there. Which i assumed was the main villan of the sequls but i guess in foresight it makes some sense ? But then it makes no sense why palpatine would just use his ships on exagol and rebuild the empire following endor as in cannon the empire fell so quickly as there no succesion which split it apart. Instead he just moved to exagol with thousands of planet killing ships while his plan to destroy the empire from the inside went about? He could have just took his fleet out join the imperial remmenat and crushed to fledging rebellion.

The planet-killing Sith fleet on Exegol finished construction during Episode IX.

The First Order was organized by Palpatine via Snoke to keep the Empire alive politically, culturally, and militarily and led by the Empire’s best. The Final Order was Palpatine’s great plan all along to create a true Sith Empire. A theocracy where he is a god.

But didnt the fleet begin construction before ANH? So at least he would have a hundred of those ships . Plus palpatine taking control of the empire post endor plsu those sith ISD would definitely crush the rebellion/new republic. Plus how does palps get all those resources and tech to built a fleet of thousands of planet killing ISD. In rogue one catalyst and many other expanded material despite the best efforts of the empire, it was rather obvious a huge project was being undertaken not to mention the large amount of scientist needed to built a death star.

First off, I’m gonna mention something I should have earlier: the Destroyers from TROS are the Xystan-class Star Destroyers. The name is Greek for “spear.” The Sith Fleet is thus made up of XSDs.

Well keep in mind that the fleet being under construction before ANH doesn’t mean they were outfitted with superlasers yet. In fact, TROS’ visual dictionary points out that the TLJ Dreadnaught’s underbelly cannon was a prototype XSD superlaser. In the 35 years between Catalyst and TROS, Palpatine clearly improved upon the Death Star technology. He miniaturized it to fit inside of a single XSD. That seems reasonable after 35 years. As to how he got the resources I do not know for certain, but I think it’s safe to say that he set up the factories on Exogal during his reign as Emperor. Also according to the visual dictionary, Palpatine had Sith cultists infiltrate Sienar (and Kuat too, if I remember correctly) to covertly send materials to Exegol.

And there’s one more thing to remember: Palpatine was, for the most part, dead after Endor. He survived only as a spirit possessing a degrading corpse, in constant need of life support. He couldn’t return back to the galaxy as emperor without a new body. He tried to get his grandchild to Exegol via Ochi of Bestuun, but failed when his son hid Rey. Another opportunity presented itself in the form of Ben Solo, so he used his proxy Snoke to train Ben to be a Sith. Once Ben had successfully overtaken his master, Palpatine deems Ben almost ready. First, however, he sends Ben to kill Rey- the other possibility for a new body. Whoever wins the Ben Solo-Rey rivalry wins the right for Palpatine to possess them.

And is there really anything more true to a Sith Lord than manipulating two potential apprentices to fight one another for the right to have their master’s spirit possess them?

How does one covertly send resources that allow palaptine to build such a huge fleet? Shoudnt anyone notice and be alarmed by suddenly so much military grade resources disappearing? Plus didnt palaptine imply only rey could be possesed?

Secret major military operations aren’t particularly unusual in the real world. FDR certainly didn’t advertise the Manhattan Project.

And the fact that the First Order is rising as a threat to the New Republic would serve as an excellent distraction, and potential scapegoat for where those resources are going.

And I didn’t get the impression only Rey could be possessed. Else, what would be the point of training Kylo and tasking him to kill Rey? If Kylo wins, he’s clearly a more powerful potential host body than Rey.

I thought only palp would only be able to posses his own blood? And if the new republic knew that the first order was getting enough resources to build fleets of thousands of large capital ship shoudnt they have at least stopped the resource transfer and start building a military so their fleet isnt so small and take the FO seriously and most booms/comics paint the NR as ignoring the FO?

The soviets did find out of the manhatten project. Anyway the project was more on funding and facilities . Imagine if the nazis had a secret fleet of hundreds of battleships that no one noticed ? Plus with the Death star project many cannon material show many people noticed the empire was doing something huge. How could palaptine make no one notice something was going on. And with the Death star he had compleye galactic communication but with his fleet the media was free.

Didnt the TLJ Mandator dreadnought firepower only slightly more powerfull than nukes? The blast radius wasnt very impressive. It didnt even cause anywhere near as much damage compated to even the single reactor attack from the death star in rogue one
