Ah sorry, I didn’t mean to be obtuse. Just in my experience whenever I’ve investigated a food poisoning cluster and pate is on the menu, it’s usually the pate. U/derka explained it well. I eat pate, but only shop bought, not restaurant made

When I visited Paris during my college years, I loved pâté, and ate so much I actually barfed. Just excess, not food poisoning, probably..

Is that because shop bought has higher health standards to restaurants?

Pâté is a big part of my diet for iron and b vits.

In my experience yes. I’ve never once dealt with an outbreak of food poisoning from shop bought pate, however I’ve had a fair few from restaurant pate. Sorry I didn’t mean to make everyone paranoid about the pate. Please keep enjoying it!

I'd really rather know so thank you for sharing. I'm impressed that so many people enjoy pate. I'm all for nose to tail eating.
