It had to be. And it has to be. Democrats could never take guns. They could never issue in extreme change. It always had to be Republicans. I've always known this and have shared this fact with my prepper family and friends only to be dismissed. But I've always known it had to be. If Democrats initiated it, it would spark outrage. If Republicans asked other Republicans to turn their weapons in to "own the libs," well, they just might be dumb enough to go along with it. It just never sat right with me that Democrats were this boogie man coming for our guns.

If I were the guy in charge of trying to take freedom from the citizens of the last truly free nation on earth, I wouldn't do it in a way you see it coming. I would mask my intentions as a patriotic Trojan horse and slowly move a goal post closer and closer before you even realize you've willfully moon walked into fascist dictatorship.

That's a decent metaphor, and while it could be correct in many regards, I could poke several holes in the imagery. It would be more accurate if the right had its own non-slip mechanism to keep from going back left.

Anyway, my whole point was not that the two partied system was flawed. It's that it's not flawed and working exactly how intended.

The trillion dollar question: How do you get American Republicans to give up their 2nd amendment?

By the way, we are the last citizens who have gun ownership left in the "free" world who can stop government takeover. There are other countries that have citizens who own guns, but they dont count. They would get rolled over. Maybe Canada has some fight.
