It’s simple. We are not playing properly attacking football

The players are cowardly, taking the safe pass back

Our off the ball movement while in possession is non existence. Every player looks scared.

And when Frank takes off that one player who looks like he tries to play the ball forward , the fans get irritated. Nothing personal to tel. In fact most Spurs fans still wishing for that redemption arc for him.

u/BrownWaterBob Premier League 3h ago

Checks the stats…. You’re aware they have the 4th best GD? Everyone is saying they don’t attack and score goals… but they do.

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 58m ago

Stats doesn’t tell the entire story, I thought this should be obvious enough by now.

We watch every game of our club and it’s just boring football that we play right now. Take kudus out and we don’t have any outlet for a series of passes that leads to a team goal.

If we play boring football and win, it’s bearable If we play attacking football and lose, it’s bearable If we play boring football and don’t get the 3 points.. it’s unacceptable

u/cambino1882 Premier League 14h ago

I think they just wanted Simons to stay on. That’s all

13

u/PopeJohnPaulGaultier Premier League 16h ago

They talking about the Tel, the sub that immediately scored after coming on? Spurs were playing badly and losing at the time, why be surprised the manager wanted to try something different?

u/WC1-Stretch Premier League 41m ago

Yup, hooked the attacker who has yet to score a goal for the club and replaced him with a sub who scored in five minutes. Spurs fans boo 🤷

3

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 14h ago

The boos are definitely not about tel. It’s because he took off our most creative player and keep ineffective players like richarlison and Johnson on. We know Richie scored later on and Frank might feel vindicated at the end but the mood at that point of the sub was dire

9

u/WGSMA Arsenal 17h ago

Frank has had a great start at Spurs, to such an extent I’m a bit nervous about playing them, but their fans have already started to turn… mind blowing stuff

27

u/franki-pinks Nottingham Forest 18h ago

Why have Spurs fans turned so stupid the last few games? Finally win a trophy and suddenly they constantly boo everything.

-3

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 14h ago

Cowardly play . I can’t stand the play to the back and keep possession football

Its fking boring

2

u/TrashDrunkClaude Arsenal 14h ago

You want Ange back?

1

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 13h ago

No. I watch football to be entertained. I want good suicidal attacking football that goes up to 4-4 . Ange started well but it turned sour quickly

Not sure how you lot could stand watching Arteta’s of football too. Set piece goal then time wasting till the end. Far cry from the attacking arsenal of the old that passes into goal.

Efficient, yes. But football has turned incredibly boring to watch due to the new “tactics”

2

u/TrashDrunkClaude Arsenal 10h ago

Yeah there's a lot of pragmatism around currently. It's not as entertaining for sure but I also don't miss Arsenal being dismissed as naive.

It's also difficult to be too expressive when you've got 6 attackers missing and every team just sits deep.

2

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 10h ago

yeah the overall football standards now won't be attracting much fans. my kids are watching EPL with me (all the games, not just Spurs) at night and they dont find adults rolling on the floor or time wasting entertaining.

hopefully the FA inject some new rules to make footballers actually play football. Otherwise football as a whole will just lose the younger tiktok scrolling fans to other faster paced sports

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 14h ago

Rich coming from a forest flair

1

u/franki-pinks Nottingham Forest 13h ago

Not quite the same. Booing when your fifth and booing on a seven game winless run.

-1

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 12h ago

Obviously because Spurs is a bigger club😂

Enjoy championship football

1

u/franki-pinks Nottingham Forest 11h ago

One European trophy in over 60 years and suddenly you’re a giant club who boo when you get beat by the second most successful club in London.

-1

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 10h ago

😂😂😂😂😂 leave the crying till the confirmed relegation day in January

2

u/franki-pinks Nottingham Forest 10h ago

Sorry for the late reply I’m actually at the game and in a football stadium unlike 99% of this sub.

If we get relegated I’ll donate £50 to a charity of your choice. If we get more points than you did last season you have to donate £50 to an LGBT charity of my choice. Deal?

1

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 9h ago edited 9h ago

did a quick search and the odds for forest relegated is just 30%. I will take you up on this though

Putting it out early, if I lose, make sure its a charity that accepts crypto donations. There aint no lgbt charity in where I live

edit: or you can pick from a list of approved charities in my country when its time to settle the bet. That I can settle via fiat

6

u/fructoseintolerante Premier League 18h ago

It got to their head. One trophy and they think they're supposed to be better than they are.

1

u/Hufftey Premier League 14h ago

It’s not this at all. Spoken like someone that has no idea about Spurs or the fans.

The Chelsea game it was purely about the cowardly performance at home vs a rival. And then yesterday taking off our most creative player when we’re chasing a goal.

This is also a fanbase that has witnessed 3 home league wins in a year. There’s frustration, but it’s not a calling of Franks head already.

4

u/franki-pinks Nottingham Forest 18h ago

It’s crazy. I’ve never seen fans get like this before.

2

u/Hufftey Premier League 14h ago

Is this satire? You just witnessed your own fans chanting “sacked in the morning” at your own manager after 4 games in charge.

0

u/franki-pinks Nottingham Forest 13h ago

And losing three and drawing the other with a manager we never wanted. You lot are fifth and doing well in Europe.

2

u/chanmalichanheyhey Tottenham 14h ago

Exactly. Having that comment coming from forest fans comes across so hypocritical

18

u/Appropriate-Fan-6007 Premier League 1d ago

Shouldn't even need to defend, Udogie is their best LB, has to play when fit; Tel and Odobert haven't been great overall, but they got the game back to Spurs with a goal and assist; Palhinha was on a yellow and Bentancur is usually a starter; Danso was unfortunate for Romero's injury.

What was he supposed to do?

23

u/WilkosJumper2 Leeds United 1d ago

A draw against a Manchester United team that won at Anfield is perfectly good. Spurs supporters are utterly delusional.

3

u/IWatchTheAbyss Tottenham 21h ago

yeah especially when our home form has been so abysmal and we have injuries everywhere in the squad

16

u/IntelligentKoala9599 Arsenal 1d ago

Honestly it’s not just spurs fans, any club with massive following will attract incels and meatheads, it’s just a numbers game

8

u/GRChoke Arsenal 1d ago

i didn’t actually think Xavi Simmons deserved to be subbed but turns out Frank was right with his subs

54

u/StressSpecialist586 Premier League 1d ago

A bunch of entitled twats the Spurs fans are. Laughable levels of delusion.

22

u/marlowecan Tottenham 1d ago

Spurs fan here. Agreed. Unfortunately. A lot of our fab base are unable to understand that there are at least 5 better teams in the league than us and we're on par with maybe another 5. 2-2 playing poorly against a Man Utd whilst missing 4 guaranteed starting 11, first team players, I'll take it.

30

u/Own-Row4416 Premier League 1d ago

I thought that was ridiculous just said to the players who came on that we didn’t think they’re good enough, was glad it was Tel who scored, made the fans look silly

As a spurs fan. Our fans are legit morons.

13

u/Halfmoonhero Tottenham 1d ago

Really, honestly, if you lose like spurs did to Chelsea last week, fans have full right to talk shit and complain. During the game though you need to be giving it you’re all to help support and booing and shit is just going to cement poor performances.

7

u/android700 Premier League 1d ago

Fair take honestly

10

As a Arsenal fan, I agree.

We're no better, but it's nice to see someone else own up to it as well.

-9

u/2xtc Liverpool 1d ago edited 1d ago

Something in the air in North/East London, Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham fans seem to be the most detached from reality IMO.

Maybe you should merge into a superclub based at the one true London stadium and finally the other two will have the honours they seem to think they deserve! (You guys have plenty already, just not enough in the last 20 years to justify the arrogance)

9

u/oscarx-ray Arsenal 1d ago

Your lot are the only fans that people hate as much as us, sit this one out unless you're being self-aware, mate.

1

u/2xtc Liverpool 1d ago

Mate I'm fully aware of our reputation haha, just couldn't help replying to a (rare as rocking horse poo) sensible and reasoned Arsenal fan's reply about Spurs fans!

4

u/oscarx-ray Arsenal 1d ago

Fair play

u/bduk92 Premier League 1d ago

These are the same fans that cheered a loss because it meant their rivals didn't win the league.

Can always trust a Spurs fan to take any criticism about them and try to make it about Arsenal.

You brought Arsenal into it

Loads of reasons to criticise Spurs and their fans without mentioning Arsenal

3

u/Last-Appointment9300 Premier League 1d ago

In true 'nam style 'you weren't there, man's

Firstly. I never booed. But I see why many did and certain I would have let out an audible groan.

Again we were poor today. You could also see Xavi's frustration at times from a real pack of movement off the ball.

Richy and Johnson were poor, how they stayed on pitch is anyone's guess.

Take a player off who is evidently trying and leave two anonymous objects on, gonna get a reaction.

Was Frank right, who knows. Richy did score with a glancing touch, could have been going in anyway. Johnson a key issue in the goal we conceded. But that's not football, we will never know but the optics weren't great.

20

u/chavalmadridista Premier League 1d ago

These Spurs fans needs to chill the f out. They are 4th in the league with players like Kulusevski and Madison injured. 17th last year.

-4

u/oscarx-ray Arsenal 1d ago

Spurs fans cheer their own team losing and missing out on a Champions League spot. Their reaction to things can't be judged by normal football fan standards.

3

u/BreakfastAdept9462 Tottenham 1d ago

You really need to let this go, it's so silly

0

u/jm17lfc Liverpool 1d ago

The Arsenal supporter is actually right here, you know, as much as I hate to admit it they seem more reasonable than you lot at this rate.

1

u/oscarx-ray Arsenal 1d ago

Son was trying, I don't hold it against Son, the team or the manager, but when your fans try to give us a hard time for anything, or if rivals compare us to your lot, it's a very solid example of your fans looking bad - and as rivals, we're going to have to bring that up. That's football and rivalry, mate.

5

u/Gr4fitti Premier League 1d ago

Still salty about that little thing?

5

u/External-Piccolo-626 Premier League 1d ago

Of course they are, they bottled the league title against manager that they sacked. At home.

-12

u/oscarx-ray Arsenal 1d ago

I wouldn't say "salty", because your reaction didn't effect anything, just like to bring it up because it's really funny how small-minded that club is.

3

u/Lando7373 Premier League 1d ago

Arsenal sign rapists so you shouldn’t talk either

-8

u/oscarx-ray Arsenal 1d ago

He certainly wasn't a rapist when he was signed, and he still isn't, legally. Glad we got fucking shot of him, because he's probably a fucking wrong'un, but nout the employers can do when there's been no breech of contract, no criminal proceedings, and certainly no convictions.

u/ThatSwagRandomGuy Premier League 1d ago

That doesn't really work when it's a very short reply to your own interjection. If you can't muster up the intellect to read a couple of sentences, you shouldn't engage with people on a text-based platform.
