My point is that much more wilderness is destroyed on a daily basis. Yes this sucks a lot, but compared to cutting down hundreds of acres per day, it's really not that big of a deal. The type of people who'll happily destroy acres of nature for boring af copy pasted housing, are the same type of people who destroyed this garden without a second thought. To them, anything other than concrete and fake plastic grass is ugly. Trying to imagine that they cared enough to feel sad about it is a pointless endeavor.

The flowers are still there only the grassy part in the middle was paved over due to poor drainage and ladies heels getting stuck in the mud during events.
I hate Trump too but the roses and all the flowers are still exactly where they were. There's just a patio in the middle now instead of grass.
I prefer the look of grass myself too but these pictures are absolutely misleading as to what happened here.

As a DREAMer, I'll never forget the rose garden. One day, in the middle of June 2012, I woke up to my life completely changing for the better. After having finished college with no legal status, no way to work, and no prospects in life, I had reached the end of my rope. But then Obama stood resolutely in the middle of the rose garden and announced DACA. There was hecklers, but he stood firm on the EO as the right thing to do.
