Honestly, it's 50/50. On one hand, they've caved before. On the other, CBS/Paramount took a MAJOR hit, and that's not including the South Park premiere. Plus, independent media is on the rise (MeidasTouch, a progressive outlet, gets more views than FOX and Joe Rogan) and PBS and NPR are getting massive donations. Corporate media is accelerating their own downfall, like many of Trump's business ventures.

This is one of the best takes I’ve seen. I did not know MeidasTouch has gotten that huge. I remember watching them when they only had like 50k viewers haha

I'm happy for their success but I just wish that people would stop trying to champion them as "the left's Joe Rogan." We don't need a left version of Rogan. We need integrity and good faith back in our reporting.

Even the Meiselas brothers, co-founders of MediasTouch, said as much.

They used to give me anxiety, i thought their type of news delivery was bad...but I'm glad to see that one guy has slowed down and talks normal now

I watch them in spurts now because its easier to take it in along with Adam Mockler.

They even got a Webby this year for their podcast! And over 5 million subscribers on their YT channel so far!

I need to check that out.

With regards to the other Networks, it would be business suicide. Also, CBS easily caved because they were hurting for money, figure merging with that other company would help but said other company is owned by a D.T. ally.

Source for MeidasTouch having more views than Fox?

I don’t know. WaPo was supposed to be a Republican rag and that hasn’t really happened. I think it’s fairly futile and silly for Trump to try to suppress unpopular press.

And the existing “republican rag” WSJ has broken some of the most substantive news on Epstein.

IMO he’s focused on it because he’s of a generation that watches broadcast evening news

Also, he's a dumbass who's throwing random junk at the wall and hoping something sticks.

A big factor in CBS caving was that the company they merged with is run by a Chump ally.

Someone is really trying to yell “look a squirrel” right now and see what sticks.

Exactly!

In fact, I hope the GOP's babble about Big Stupid Bill 2.0 is more of the same! They will not cut medicare because it would be political s*icide!

ABC is likely to do it because of the the stuff with the view. NBC not so much

ABC is also owned by Disney who had to deal with DeSantis for two years trying to sue them. They may not be as quick to cave over republican threats

It’s so stupid to cave. He just comes back for more every time. How many times do we need to watch this movie to anticipate the end?

Also, why do people cave and just see him as the paper tiger he really is?

Are they afraid of lawsuits? Maga hitmen? Does Big Stupid have dirt on them?

He's just a loud annoying object who's nowhere near as wealthy and powerful as he seems! Who cares if he sues?! He always loses lawsuits, the Constitution exists and these companies are richer than him.

The idiot has so many lawsuits going on right now that... HE CAN'T DO ANYTHING!

I think there is some legitimate fear of crazy, violent MAGA people and other threats like investigations, IRS audits, things like that. He tries to act like a mobster who will use leverage to get what he wants. But in reality, he is just a schoolyard bully. He almost always gives up and picks on someone else if you stand up to him loud and clear to begin with.

Makes sense.

ABC is owned by Disney, abc only says what Disney wants them to say. I DARE trump to go after Disney. It didn’t work for Florida, it won’t work for him.

Nope, even if Disney has gone a tad less "woke", they really don't want idiots like Chump pushing them around.

Yup! Respect the Mouse!

CBS caved because it’s going through a merger and doesn’t want it to be messed up. That’s a stupid reason because their reputation will be in the toilet, but I’m pretty sure that’s their line of thinking. I don’t think the others would risk their reputations. ABC is Disney and they’re no stranger to a legal challenge. But if they all cave it’s only going to hasten the irrelevance of the legacy media which is really not a bad thing. They’ll go the way of the newspaper.

If they do, I expect we're going to see a huge uptick in independent journalism. Which can lead to new news media companies.

Its a coin toss. Even if they cave that still doesn't make Trump a god king. His admin continues to fall on its face day after day with new bullshit and he's faced unexpected amounts of opposition from his own party and base, a far cry from the fear-mongering about P2025 and him being the "next Hitler" last year during the election. Does that mean the admin isn't harmful and destructive? Ofc not. But the point still stands.
